Tim240z
Well, I know some of you guys out there are game nuts, so answer this if you can: Firstly. I am definitely no Gaming nut...never have the time, but I do own 1 game for PC (don't have nintendo, or sega or anything else). I have Star Wars Rogue squadron. Anyway, I bought it years ago when it first came out, and also bought a cheap game controller pad. Problem is, I just bought a new computer and it doesn't have the game pad connector like my old computer has. No problem, i bought another contoller pad (USB). Cheap one ($10). Anyways, it works great in Windows' calibration screen, but doesn't work at all in the game! I've gone through the basics....making sure that the controller is selected and that the game see it and calibrated from the game's opening screen (which just launches the Windows calibration utility). Any ideas? Tim
Cruez
Just a thought... Is there somewhere in the games option screen to enable the controller?. Usually its default is the keyboard or mouse, you may have to change it there. I have never been a fan of USB mice or controllers. I usually stick to the game port of the sound card.. or the serial port..
Tim240z
Yeah I did that. I'm thinking maybe because it's a digital controller? I think the old one was analogue. TIm
JB_BA
You might check and see what version of the game you have. If it's the original version, and it hasn't been patched or upgraded, it most likely doesn't recognize that newer controller. Try downloading a patch for the game, the newest version you can find. Here's what I came up with: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/r/?page=http://www.computerandvideogames.com/news/news_story.php(que)id=15439 You could definatly try lucasarts.com if that doesn't fix it. If all else fails, open up your PC and install a game port card. (You can pick one up for $5-$15, depending on where you go.) Tim240z
Actually I fixed it. I reset the defaults (button selection) and then all of a sudden the game let me change the settings! man I had spent hours on this, and it ended up being something that simple. I had actually sent LucasArts and email, but their response was so pathetic that I didn't pursue it any further. Thanks guys!! Tim
