JoeinCA
YEAH BUDDY! I'm totally stoked. After seeing a few questionable trucks, i stumbled upon a very well maintained 1988 2500 series chevy truck, 4X4 with a camper shell, V8, AC, a HEATER! 5 speed manual transmission, and i have granny low! Plus, a nice, kick butt tow package, bedliner. It runs good, looks good, and has been meticulously maintained. $3000 even. It isnt super duper pretty, has one dent, and the brakes are just slightly less than perfect. I am pretty happy though, I am sure that this thing will tow me, my Z and all my crap straight to wyoming! I should leave on Wednesday or Thursday. So relieved, i felt like i was melting when i drove that truck. My stress level just dropped like 4 eschelons(sp?). I get to go pick it up for good tomorrow afternoon. Wyoming, here i come, Joe
z-REX
hard-CORE! just check up those brakes before you tow.... i'd hate to see what that beast might flatten!
JoeinCA
Oh, My sorta stepdad drove it after i did, he slammed on the brakes pretty good, because you just need to know what you have. The rears locked, and the left front. but it stopped in about 2 feet from about 17 mph. I am going to give the brakes a look though anyhow. It is a really big truck... I have driven much bigger, but, it still rates up there next to my 68, and my boss's 2500HD dodge i drove quite a bit. And another V8 enters the family MWAHAHAHAHA Joe
DavyZ
I just bought a truck too--1995 Chevy Suburban. I found it on Craigslist.com and checked it out; drove home with it that evening after writing a check! I have to remind myself that this is the wife's vehicle, not mine Oh well, at least I have my V8Z project car Congrats on your purchase, Joe! denny411
In my area, ANY 4x4 that looks and runs good is worth 3000.00 especially if it is a rust free western truck.
Guest oldZguy
I'd have to agree that they hold their value all in all. I had a 68 C10 that I had traded a mule and a goat for (long story don't ask long ago, used it for a few years hauling trash then let it sit. You could throw rocks through the bed and you had to keep your foot over the hole in the floor when it rained so you didnt get wet! It also had the anti theift 3 on the tree, if you ever had one you know just what I mean Finally decided it was time for it to go and put up for $350 figuring I had a lot of room to come down... 3 hrs later a guy pulls up and asks if it runs, yep it runs, he pulls out $350 cash and hands it too me, never drove it! Then he tells me he's looked all summer and never found a truck that ran for under $500, damn I knew I should have asked more!!!
