SBC_400
I am just wondering, the conversion was done over 10 years ago, and it seems to me to be closer to the firewall than a scarab, but I did not have to remove the hood latch. however the hood latch does interfear with the plug ends on the distributer. what do you think? scott
Guest BigWhyteDude
that looks to be in the scarab position b/c the hood lack is not modifyed for dizzy clearance. who knows it may be custom mounts.
Dan Juday
Looks custom to me. Can you get a good shot of the motor mounts? Funky radiator position.
SleeperZ
Looks custom to me. Can you get a good shot of the motor mounts? Funky radiator position. I was going to say the same thing about the radiator. The mechanical fan was retained, so that's the only way to get flow through it. Guest Drewz
Move hte rad back to original position and use a shroud and it will run cooler than the way it is now.
awd92gsx
Where can you see the scarab kit? And how much is it?

SBC_400
here is the one pick of the engine mount I have now, does this help? and I am definitly going to see if there is enough width to move the radiator foreward, because it does run a little hot in the summer. scott
Guest Drewz
A fan shroud will help that alot, I bet. The rad being that far from the fan doesn't help. I run an electric fan and shroud assembly only and have had no problems and I bet my car pretty hard....
SBC_400
if it is not the JTR setup, or the Scarab, do you think it is high enough to run long tube headers? that is one of the benifits of the Scarab style mounts right?
Guest SLICK RICK
It looks like the hooker mounts I have, I bought the about ten years ago from Summit. They used to sell a kit, don't know if it still available.
