80LS1T
Well it's not too bad but I just got a 93' LT1 with a T56 tranny for $2250 + $400 shipping off of Ebay. It had 75,000 miles on it. Mine came with all accesories(alternator,AC,PS,etc),ECM and wiring harness uncut, driveshaft with torque arm,and the master cylinder and pedal assembly. Try looking on Ebay you will usually find pretty good deals on them with trannys attached! Personally if I had to do it all over again I would have found a 94+ combo because the 94+ you can reprogram the memory instead of having a chip put in. So now I have to get a 94+ EMC, MAF, and possibly a 94+ wiring harness. Which isn'r really that big of a deal. That's my $.
Tim240z
Just for perspective, I got mine with all accessories, harness, ecm, and driveshaft (from a 94 Z28 w/ T56) for $1400.00, but I heard it run and pulled it myself (with Dave). Mike C
I have 2 LT1s. First was a 30k mile motor with CNC heads from a 96 Camaro SS (supercharged motor dropped a valve and he built a 396ci LT1 supercharged ~ $15k, he then had the CNC stock heads repaired). Second was a higher mileage motor from a wrecked Caprice cop car. I bought both from a friend as a package, but he bought the second because the fuel rails and accessories were more expensive than the complete junkyard motor ($800) The junkyard motor came with EVERYTHING. Exhaust manifolds and Cat converters, all accessories (PS, AC, alternator), all of the intake stuff (MAF, airbox, ducting), computer and complete engine harness. Just keep that in mind as you look at what everybody else got for about the same $ as you are talking.
Guest polarity
I've got a stock 79 280ZX right now, but I'm wanting to make a hyrbid. I found a LT-1 with 70,000 miles, running, with everything except the following: alternator ignition ac pump powersteering pump (my car doesnt have power steering now) he wants $1800 for it.. is that a bad price?
