EvilRufusKay
Looking through some documents I got with the car I found the original window sticker as well as the original bill of sale. Check them out here and here. Thought it was pretty cool, he traded in a 260 for the 280.
Guest Nic-Rebel450CA
Those are cool. I remember when I found the originals for a 67 Firebird I bought. Original title, bill of sale, and dealer owner manual! Always love to find good old stuff like that.

Dave240Z
What a cool find. Did anyone notice the interest rate? Take a look, it's a whopping 19.35%!!!! His interest on the $6800 principal is $2176 roughly 1/3 of the principal in just 4 years!!! As a kid growing up in the early 70s, I can remember my parents having quite a tough time with finances due to the crazy inflation of the period. That bill of sale is a great illustration of what it was like to finance something in those times. We sort of take the great interest rates of today for granted a bit, but things like this help keep things in perspective as there were times when interest rates were much higher, and may be again someday. Could you imagine buying a car today, financing say $15K over 4 years at 19.35%? That would be absolutely nuts.
z-REX
modern interest rates may seem better... but oh yeah they still find ways to screw the public. how you might ask? jacking up the rates on "high-risk" buyers, aka the huge percentage of the population with weak credit. i have a repo on my record from my young and stupid days... 95 jetta vr6, great car but they stuck me with 21.75% . i was just so thrilled to hear i got approved for a car like that i went ahead with it. they got the car back after i realized that 450/mo car payment plus 250/mo insuance added up to 700 . and the real kick in the balls? being naive and impulsive screwed my credit even worse. BASTARDS!!!!!!
