Mine's a 305TPI w/ 700r4. Crane 2-5k cam, L98 heads, block huggers, cut-outs. Runs in the 12.80's @ ~104 w/ 3.73 R200 rear. 8.20's in the 1/8th, 1.8's 60ft. these are when she's hooking. 13.20's, 8.50's, 2.1's when she ain't. Just upgraded to 8.8 solid rear. i drove it up and down my street 1 time but haven't made a run at the track yet. Runnin' 3.27 gear now.

i liked the squat and leave of the IRS, but the 8.8 should allow me to wail on it with slicks without crossing my fingers every time. But this means i'll prolly bust the tranny soon

I have a 1971 240Z with a 383 sbc /700r4 auto trans built up. Stall is 2600 rpm's. I am running a lsd 3.70 out of a 1987 300zxt.

The car with 235/60-15 drag radials has run 11.62 at 119 mph with a 1.76 60 ft. and 7.40 for the 1/8th mile.

zfan,

Do you know how much your car weights and your approx HP? What rear gear are you running? I'm currently building my '78 280 with a 383. Your times look awesome and you still have the independant rear suspension. Congrats!

So does an LS1 count as an SBC?

LS1/T56; 3.70:1 R200 LSD in '77 280Z. 225/50-16 street radials, car weighed 3,085 with me in it. 12.95@110mph; 2.05 60' & 8.86 1/8th. CAr chassis dyno'd at 311 RWHP & 326 RWTQ. At least it's a comparison with a manual vs. automatic and heavier 280Z vs. 240Z.

My car weighs 2760 with me in it. The rear gears are 3.70's out of a 1987 300zxt. I have no idea what horsepower it makes as I had just dropped the motor in the car with less than 100 miles when I ran it at the track.

With some tuning it is noticably faster I think now, maybe low 11's, who knows? I guess it is probably 350 to 375 to the rear wheels.

I knew someone would say that! :) They are street trim to me at 18 lbs,and I don't race around turns.I buy a new set every spring and sell them in the winter.I've done this 4 years now,and drive 20 minutes each way to work.

1971 240Z lowered 1 inch

15" centerlines (8's in back and 6's up front)

Heavy springs in the rear with raised spring perches

No sway bar

honda crx seats

no roll bar

white auto meter gauges

2600 lbs empty

362 sbc (3.550" stroke and 4.030" bore)

11.3:1 cr (flat tops, zero deck block)

iron eagle heads (64cc combustion chambers, 200 cc intake runners)

cast crank with 4 bolt mains

292H comp cam

performer rpm intake

holley 750 3310 carb

150 shot N20 (I use a 1 gallon fuel cell in front of car with racing fuel for N20 fuel enrichment)

GM T5 trans

3.90 r200 diff

brake linelock

MT slicks (26x8.5x15)

sintered iron clutch

full lenght headers with 1 5/8 tube, 2.5 inch exhaust, two 2.5 hooker areochambers.

10 gallon fuel cell and mallory 140 pump

10.7 sec at 134 mph, 1.5 sec 60 footers, 6.9 at 110 in the 1/8 mile.

I finish the 1/4 mile at the very top of 4th gear.

The car drives well on the street and doesn't over heat. (Black magic fan with GM radiator)

My times are slow compared to the mph because I shift slow to save the trans. I plan to go automatic, turbo, and a straight axle because I'm sick of breaking parts. I can't race the car anymore until I install a roll cage!

Mine run's 10.3 @ 131 on the motor with 1.48 60' times. On the nitrous the car has gone as quick as 9.10 @ 149 with 1.23 60' time. When I use the nitrous I leave on the button right out of the hole with my foot to the floor. I don't have any traction problems, but I have had to deal with heart stopping wheelies. After restricting the front end travel to zero, I don't have as much of a problem anymore.

Mark,

Great car!! I saw your 9.25 run at the True Street drags on ESPN. You were the fastest street car there and successfully completed a 30 mile drive prior to the drag race. That wheelstand was awesome when you launched.

Is your front suspension beefed up to handle the impact after you come down from the wheelstand?

You must have a 4 link rear suspension that is heavily modified to handle those launches.

Welcome to Hybridz.

Hanns
