dsommer
What year model Maxima did the braket come off of the the conversion to rear disks for our Z's? I might have a line on a few sets. David Oh how do I miss the search function...
VRJoe
According to my notes they're from a 81-84 Maxima. Nissan part Number 44155-04S10. If you're pulling them at the JY, don't forget the bolts. - Joe
Tim240z
From what I can recall, it's not just the year, but also the model (which I'm sorry I can't help with). I remember that when I pulled mine, I found several Maximas of that vintage, but not all had the bolt on bracket, some were welded on. I think I got mine off of a 1981 maxima.....but it's been a long time, so don't quote me on that. If you are going to pull them at the JY, take a big power bar and an extention tube to get leverage....it's a bitch of a task.... David K
guys, Im thinking about helping a friend do the rear disk conversion. What calipers/rotors do we use? What needs cutting/destroying?
Guest ON3GO
well david told me to reply to this post regarding the 240sx brake swap.. (i no its not the maxima one) well daid this is what i used as i couldnt find any maximas in junk yards were i lived in florida, Silvia rear calipers (same as 240sx) 300zx Z31 N/A rear rotors. KVR carbon fiber brake pads (from Ross) Goodridge stainless steel brake lines (from Ross) Modern Motorsports 240sx Caliper Mounts (from Ross) Modern Motorsports E-brake Mounts (from Ross) lol.. it was cheap and easy i thought, the E-brake mounts you can make yourself but its just easier to just buy them and get it over with. plus helping out a member is always a plus. all parts were made AWESOME, and im very happy with them. Just paint or clear coat the caliper mounts as they surface rust after abit. there ya go david K. best of luck on your friends Z... mike
SleeperZ
I looked at this bracket thing for a while. All I saw were welded on brackets for the '82 and later brakes. I found bolted-on brackets on an '81, but they were for the old style brakes (which suck, IMHO).
john kosmatka
if you using the 79-81 zx calipers you need the 1980-84 maxima brackets with the screwed on dust shield. If you are using the 82-83 zx calipers you need the 80-84 maxima brackets with the floating dust shield. This is not from experience but I printed it out from an post a while back. Hope it helps.
