I live in west mobile alabama and the car is a 1975 280z. thank you one and all
J Taylor
Get a bigger slide hammer. You can get a big one from O-Reilly's. The store in Tillman's corner usually has the loaner in stock. Never had a problem getting the stub axles out with it. JT
Guest XR1000
i guess the old adage "there is no subsititue for cubic in " also goes for slide hammers. the rumble in the rear end is gone and all is right with the world thank you
J Taylor
Awesome. BTW, I don't live at the same house anymore. I moved out to West Mobile off Dawes now so if you need anything shoot me an email. JT
Pop N Wood
I have also heard others suggest using an air hammer with a pointed bit on the back side of the stub axle. It doesn't so much hammer it out as vibrate it out.
JMortensen
The air hammer works really really well. Very easy job with the right tool. Using a slide hammer is tough, and using a hammer on the back side can mushroom the end of the stub axle. Jon
