Guest EvoGenesisX
Hi, I am buying used rims from this guy and the rim specs are: 4x114.3 Lug pattern 32mm offset 16x7 fronts and 16x8 rears. What will I need to do to make them fit on my car flush with the ZG flares? If you can help, please be specfic on what I need to do. Thanks
DavyZ
Spacers. Call or email Ross C at http://www.modern-motorsports.com He can make spacers for you cheaper then the adapters, which apparently you don't need. Davy
JMortensen
Aren't the ZG flares like 2.5" in front and 3.5" in back? If so, that is one heck of a spacer. I'd look for different wheels. I've seen a couple of posts about this in the last few weeks. While this might be possible with some really long studs, you still need some threads in the lug nuts, which makes me think that different wheels would be a better alternative. Or is there something I'm missing? Jon
Guest ON3GO
na there not that wide.. maybe 2.5inchs.. the fronts even flare out a TAD bit more then the rear... atleast on mine they did or looked like they did. mike..
JMortensen
Even so, a 2.5 inch spacer, then the thickness of the wheel flange, then your lug nuts?!?!? Is this a good idea??? Sure, when I worked on Porsches we used 2" spacers, but we had 5 14mm ARP studs on there... Jon
JMortensen
I am assuming that these wheels fit under stock fenders, BTW. If they stick out of stock fenders and you need 1/2" spacer, and you are willing to change studs, then go for it. Jon
auxilary
32 what? positive? negative?
Guest EvoGenesisX
So i would need about a 2.5 inch spacer to make it flush? These rims are positive 32 offset. Does http://www.modern-motorsports.com make longer studs with their spacers? OR should I just look for different wheels?
auxilary
32 positive offset would require you to add 32mm to whatever size spacer is usually associated with stock 0 offset. This would be an even greater task with ZG flares. Right now, you need spacers just to mount the wheel so it doesn't rub against the spring. Let's say you need a 3" spacer for ZG flares, which is 76.2 mm. You'll need to add 32mm to that to space the wheel out for ZG flares so it would sit the same way a 0 offset wheel would. JMortensen
Different wheels... Jon
Guest EvoGenesisX
thanks guys........guess i won't be getting the Advans SA3.......now i'm off to hunt for different rims..........do you guys think 17x7.5 would look good with the ZG flares, or would I need to go wider? The only cheaper 3 spoke rims I found that look like Advans are konig Mp3 and they only make them 7.5 in width.
JMortensen
Why did you flare the car? If you did it for looks, and you can find the right offset, then yeah, go with the 7.5" rims assuming you can find the right offset (probably won't, or it'll be custom). I'd rather see some 9" or 10" rims on a flared car myself. Jon
Guest EvoGenesisX
i the got flares for looks, but then i fell in love with the deep dish 3 spoke style from advan....so now in order for me to get 16 or 17x9 or 10 I will need to purchase a wheel at $750 without tires yet....now thats crazy stuff.....why does advan have to be so expensive...why can't they make copies of these wheels in wider width... auxilary
wait. are you sure you're not confused? you said it's positive offset, and they're DEEP DISH rims? If they're dished, they're negative offset, most likely. extreme negative offset - rim sticks out, deep dish extreme positive offset - rim spokes are closest to the outer rim lip
Metro
I'm probably going to get in on this for my Z -> http://www.celicasupra.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5364 ROH snyper wheels, size 17x8 +10mm in front and 17x9 +0mm rear, 4x114.3mm bolt pattern. Not sure if they'll fill the flares completely, but they should stick out a bit.
Guest EvoGenesisX
yeah the guy told me that they are positive offset, i dunoo he could be wrong. How do I find out by looking at the wheel?
240Z_Master
you're going to need some negative 20 offset or what not man. This is a Japanese Setup for ZG Watanabes 15x8.5 -6 offset, 16x9 -19 offset just to make it fit right... Look for other wheels or don't ZG it with those wheels.
