Mikelly
...So on the way to work this morning I have a pickup truck (One of those new Dodge Hemis) that is playing with me... I drop from 6th to 4th and hammer the throttle... and watch the rpms rise... To redline... and I'm only going ....maybe 110... And then the smell comes on... Yuck! I've got a Z06 setup sitting on the bench, and I need to get a new slave cylinder, but other than that... Looks like I'll be swapping a clutch this weekend... Hope I can get home! Guest Nic-Rebel450CA
Clutch smell stinky Thanks for sacrificing the clutch for a good cause though I can't wait until I get an opportunity to spank a hemi ram in my truck. Did you spank him good enough before toasting the clutch?

Guest Nic-Rebel450CA
ah man! Somewhere there's a hemi guy with an even more bloated ego. what clutch are you going to go with? centerforce?
Tim240z
That Dodge guy is probably all over the Ram boards telling everyone how he 'spanked' a C5 with his Hemi! Shame on you Mike....
Mikelly
Yup, I was thinking that right after it happened... (In heavy southern accent) "Boy I Showed him my taillights Butt GOOD, Just like Awesome Bill from Dawsonville" Sheesh! Gonna be a real BIATCH to do this clutch... You have to remove the REAR END and trans, then the torque tube... Mike
denny411
Well, at least you have a lift to make the job go a little easier. Do you have a transmision jack yet? If NOT, You`re going to need one.

Guest goldraven
i am so sorry to hear that. It would only be right that after you get the clutch fixed on first drive you meet this guy again.
Dan Juday
i am so sorry to hear that. It would only be right that after you get the clutch fixed on first drive you meet this guy again. Next time you meet take it to the track. We are out here chastizing the young guys for street racing. Us old folk need to set a better example. Mikelly
Hmmm, Dan, Ever been on the beltway in washDC at 4:30 in the morning? It is 5 lanes wide open. There was no traffic, and one other vehicle screwing with me... It is called discretion. Something 21 years of driving experience has gotten me. Pick your spots, and your battles... Guess you've never hit the gas on a public road? Sorry, just seemed a little Preachy... Mike
