CZCAR
Arg 3 months after placing an order with Motor Sport Aero for a bodykit for my 280zx, they have said that they have sent it. Ok ok i can be patient, but thats a while. Secondly it was going to be expensive from the word go, living in Nz it worked out 1100 dollars just for the front and rear bumpers. But now i have no bodykit, no idea where it is, been charged nearly 1400 dollars, a lot more than i was quoted. (shipping 285) Ahh thats my b*tch and rave off my chest cam
CruxGNZ
I feel your pain, but wow that's a kick in the arse! I bought my front air dam and headlight covers on the third of this month and was told it would be here within 7-10 days. I just recieved it on the 19th. Although after I called to find out what happened, the guy did tell me that my parts were to arrive at MSA on the 23rd. So, I did get them sooner than expected after I had called them. This is the third time I had ordered from MSA and it was the first problem I have had. !M!
CZCAR
Whats worse is that for 1800 dollars i could buy a rb25det, i got a mandrel bender and shop press and lathe and all the other stuff, so i could of chucked one of those in my car for an extra grand, oh the humility, meh atleast it will look good, albeit be slow as a mule.... johnc
MSA has a lead time of 4 to 8 weeks for their fiberglass and CF body parts. Because they only buy in small quantities they are stuck with a supplier's manufacturing schedule that optimizes the manufacturers profits, not customer service. MSA doesn't normally stock the bigger body parts because they get damaged while sitting on the shelf and, here int he great state of California, the county taxes you on the retail value of the inventory you carry. I'm not making excuses for them, just letting you know how the process works.
CZCAR
Yeah i got that but 3 months is a bit, and i paid just under 300 dollars US for freight, and now they want me to pay from the frieght collect, now that the items are in the country, plus they stuffed my order arg atleast the zx will look good
80LS1T
If MSA charges you for shipping and then the frieght company tries to charge you when they drop it off, dont pay the frieght company. That happen to me. I eventually got refunded for the extra shipping. I paid $120.00 shipping for my entire body kit to be sent directly to my door. $300 sounds a little too high if you ask me? zolorin
Hey I had a great service with MSA -- they actually waited for me for extra half hour when I was picking up the parts, I got stuck in traffic and was got there past their open time and I called them right before they closed to ask them reguarding if they can wait for me and they did GOOD JOB MSA
Moridin
I'd wait another week or two, then take it up with your credit card company. IMO, they shouldn't charge the card until the products are there and waiting to ship.
JMortensen
In mail order businesses it is common practice to charge you right away when a product is being drop shipped. This is because the merchant (MSA) is really a middle man between the customer and the supplier. I do this all the time in my business. It's not always convenient for the customer, but it is not crooked. FTC says a mail order business has 30 days to ship after charging your card, or else they need to get authorization from the customer again for the additional delay in writing. ALWAYS go to the merchant and ask for a refund before taking it up with the credit card. An honest merchant will give you your money back if you want it, or will give you an update on the expected shipping time and let you decide whether to stick it out or not. Charging back via the credit card should be a LAST resort. Jon
