very nice i love rx-7 especially the first generations(the one in the video is a second generation i know) and i hope to put a V8 in one.

Since you guys are a LOT more cool than the rx-7 people about motor swaps i will remain on this website :D

It's probably a great platform to do swaps with too. I just know a lot more about Nissans, so I stick with them, but I'm not against doing a V8 RX7 swap either...or a Porsche for that matter...

The first gen bodies look fabulous with big flare kits and such; very clean looking. Me like!

ShortyZ....

I recently bought a 1998 LS1 engine & 4L60E (automatic) tranny combo for $3400.

-Only 42,000 miles

-Engine & Tranny

-Complete ECM & wiring included

- Exhaust manifolds and DP's included

I think I got one hell of a deal... look around, they sell pretty cheap every now and then.

Yeah, it's down. Check out this nasty domain name company:

whois -h whois.itsyourdomain.com thewrongmotor.com

The domain thewrongmotor.com is current on redemption hold. If you are the current owner you have two options if you would like to have it again.

The first is to wait and re-register it as new after it has been dropped from the central registry. The second is to recover it under the "Redemption" program.

The central registry has adopted the new "Redemption" program in order to try and help in cases like yours. They keep deleted domains on ="Registry Redemption" status for up to 30 days. If, during that time, the registrar who deleted the domain wants it back, they can have it- FOR A FEE. This fee is quite high, in our opinion, but we have little say in the matter. We are not attempting to make a gross profit on this type of transaction, we are merely passing on the central registry fee.

So, if you want to wait and re-register your domain, you will have to wait for up to 30 days until the central registry drops the domain. If you want to recover it before then, the fee is $100.00 plus the cost of your renewal for at least one year. You may pay via cashier's check, money order, or by the default credit card in your account. Please indicate the domain, the number of years to renew and your preferred method of payment, and we'll begin the proceedings.

We STRONGLY recommend you do not wait to try and re-register your domain after it is dropped. There are cybersquatters running automated programs that are much more likely to re- register your domain first. You will either lose your domain forever, or you will have to spend many times more to get it back in that event. This is exactly the type of commonly-seen scenario that prompted the central registry to adopt this Redemption Period policy...We are unable to check this domain at this time

I recommend not using "itsyourdomain.com" ever again. They should rename it, "itsmydomain.i0wnj00.com"

The LS1's are becoming increasingly cheaper.. like the LT1's had declined in price, and swap's became more popular with the LT1.. Now the same with the LS1 .. (GOOD NEWS!)..

I am looking to purchase one for my truck.

(Still lookin for Z, although I have seen one for sale near where I live, but havent had time to check it out)

I don't know about the third gen RX7 and the LS1. Great engine, great platform (I have a '93 RX7). I'm not sure if the two of them together are a great combo. The third gen RX7 is so well balanced and handles so well as is. More power comes easily from the current motor ( though this does cause the earlier demise of an already short lived engine). I'm not a purist, though, and if someone else can put one of these together and not destroy the wonderful characteristics of this car, I might give it a try in the very distant future.
