RPMS
Are you feeling down? Do you lack that passion you once approached this hobby with? Do you hardly look at your car anymore, much less drive it? I have your solution! Spend more money! I'm buying a radiator from Spotfitz this evening, and I feel more charged up about the Z than I have in months. The prospect of having something to wrench on again has renewed my enthusiasm. Next I'll get the registration current and give it a romp around the block, hopefully having exorcised the overheating demon once and for all. Man, I feel like an 80 year old on Viagra. "Wow! It still works!"
EvilRufusKay
I know what you mean...I justify working on my car by telling myself to spend spend spend!!! I have enough for both of us to do so if you get depressed again........ Just leave the Viagra at home!!!

After all, "they" say that when you have problems "go help others". So here I am - ready to help all of you by letting you help me! *puts out open hand and waits... Forrest
You got that right. Man, when I picked up my first Z for 3000$ I never dreamed I would be spending this much. I wanted an old sports car that was easy to work on, and had decent performance. I wasn't planning on doing any of this. I remembered telling the guy I still hold partially responsible for my current mess, "xxxx$ for xxxx! No way! I guess I'll be staying stock!" Yeah, right. That resolution lasted about 15 minutes. I keep a spreadsheet for all expenses and parts I remember to write down - it is really scary. I looked at my total last night and I have over 20k in my cars. I have no idea how that happened - seriously. It was a few hundred at a time...I don't have anywhere near that kind of spending money available. (ok, I still owe a lot in loans on the latest addition but hey, it was a deal I couldn't pass up - ask anyone who's seen it. ) The sad thing is - neither of them is close to done. spotfitz
Well, I never did get a call from you saying you were coming by or an email, I'm not coming home tonight. OK, just joking. I needed the money to spend the way you do...As you know, I'm finally getting my '74 out of paint jail this week, maybe(only 10 months). I've got alot more spending to go then you ! Wait, thats not a good thing! Come on now, this is one hell of a deal for this radiator! I'll be looking for the receipt while I wait on you to get here. I'll even wait until it works to help with your overheating problem to get paid if you want. BTW, I can tell you the easy way to get to my house if you'll give me a call. Don't listen to "go" or "mapquest" or any of those map sites. They always point you in the WRONG direction in Texas. I guess it's to big of a state to consider accurate. Trust me, I know! Atleast you have my number if you get lost... Looking forward to showing you what I have of my '74 in the garage right now and my recent purchase, my '77 rust bucket. Wait till you seen what I do to this one! BTW, for anyone reading this, hopefully I'll have pics of my '74 while/and after painting in the next couple days. I'll update the progress pics so far when I get it back. Hopefully this weekend, Body shop owner isn't answering his phone damn it!
Guest bastaad525
that's funny... the more I spend the more depressed and angry I get... It's only when I go long periods of time w/o having to spend a dime that I fall back in love with it...
silicone boy
Ya know, I always wondered why people took so long to finish (if ever) their projects. Now I understand. I just get too tired after work to spend time in the garage. Too many distractions, too. Then I get a burst of energy and get a lot done. Right now, I'm distracted. I'm supposed to be finishing up the exhaust system on my car. It's slow going and I should farm this out, but I'll keep on struggling with it. Unfortunately, I've started with another project. I'm building a Lotus Super 7 clone, or a Locost from scratch. It uses a spaceframe and I'll use the suspension from-surprise!-a 280Z (glad I kept all those spare parts). I'm using a Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle motor (180 hp at 10,000 rpm!). The motor and gearbox weigh only 200 pounds and the car should weigh only 700-800 pounds dripping wet. It should scream! I'm not abandoning the twin turbo Z project though-I'm just taking my own sweet time. My wife isn't totally happy with all my projects, but she admits they're better than a mistress.
