JKDGabe
Anybody know what the going range is for a good sbc with or without the accompanying 5-6 speed? Saw a 98 firebird (wrecked, but complete) sell here for $2,000. Is that typical? What is the best motor to look for? Cost vs. efficiency... Thanks alot. JKDGabe
Dang it! I knew somebody would say that! Know you've gone and made me feel bad... note the use of past tense "saw" not see. OK, I'll be quicker next time. Back to my question, what's the best to get? I'm in no hurry, just wondering.
Dan Juday
$2k is a very good price for that combo (LS1/T56). I would expect $3k would be a great deal, $3500-$4000 is the going rate I've seen. I paid $2k for my 305 TPI/T5 combo. Like Tim said, "Jump on it!"

Len
I paid $2,800 for my 1996 Lt-1 and 6 speed tranny. That was 1 1/2 yrs. ago

Mudge
Dude, that is amazing! Expect to pay $3500ish for LS1/T56, programming the LS1 is pricey at $550 for LS1 Edit, but damn........ Even for an LT1/T56 combo that is a good price, thats what I hope to pay someday. If the LS1 prices come down, I'll reconsider. Good luck!
