Zfreak
I recently put the motor, trans, driveshaft, differential, and exhaust system in my car. Its only took about four and a half years to get this far so its time for a little celebration. Take a look at some pictures on my web page. The web page is just a start. Guest greimann
Looks awesome so far. So what did you finally settle on for the powerplant, the Edelbrock headed 350 or the kid in the dinosaur jammies?
DavyZ
The whole setup is looking really nice I like the color of the engine bay and especially the color of the motor! It nearly looks powdercoated. Davy
Zfreak
Im going to go with the sbc, but I did make Tyler ( he is my son ) make motor noises before I would let him out of the engine bay. The engine paint is graphit colored, straight out of a spay can. I can't remember the brand.
Guest Anonymous
Looks like you are going full out on the modifacations, with one striking engine bay.
Moridin
What color is that in the engine bay? How long did that take to prep and do? Anyways, looks really awesome. I hope I will be able to do have that quality job in four years with mine. Oh, if you find the brand of the graphite can paint, let us know. Phantom
So how many times have you told Tyler that "This will be your car someday" to keep him interested in handing you wrenches? Keep up the good work. Should have it done and looking great by his 16th birthday!!
aviatorx
Looks like you're making good progress, congradulations. How did you fill the seam between the headlight bucket and the fender?....weld?...body filler?
Len
Tbuck You should be proud! You are going thru that Z the right way. You will KNOW everything will be Right! I also see in your engine bay the main reason why its taking a little longer to accomplish work on your Z from time to time. You have the best of both worlds. Never neglect the "Hybrid" in the engine bay (Tyler). Its not the destination traveling thru this world. Its the path you chose to travel. Looks like you are chosing the path with the most happiness/emotional rewards . That's what really matters as you get older. Also time invested in Tyler (& family) now. Will enable you more time later (not spending time bailing anyone out of jail/drug rehab etc.)So you will have more time to work on your Z. Sorry I get philosofical at times. Keep up the good work! Zfreak
Thanks for all the great comments. The color of the engine bay is 2000 corvette. If your want to duplicate it I can get the paint code from the body shop. The engine is painted with Dupli-color engine enamel (cerammic ), the color is cast coat iron # DE1651. VRJoe
That's just about the same color I'm using I spent a bunch of time with the paint shop going over color charts until I found the one I wanted. I almost thought I was looking at a picture of my engine compartment !!! Needless to say, Looks Great -Joe
