Guest dammit
I am having trouble with my 280zx.I rebuilt a motor for it and I used a '75 head with an '80 block. My problem is when I start it up it runs fine'but if I try to go above 3000 rpms or so.The motor gets to much gas and it stalls. It was suggested to me that it might be the cold start valve. If anyone has a suggestion. Please let me know. Also I am using a big bore throttlebody. datsunlover
Try adjusting the TVS/TPS maybe? Or adjust the AFM (open it up and turn the wheel a bit, to give more tension) Dont know what else it could be..

datsunan
Somehow my timing got way off and that happened to me. Start with the easy stuff. Is your cylinder head temp sensor CHTS hooked up? Is the connection good?
Guest cid
I just bought a z that was running really rich and went through alot of trouble to find the problem. Unfortunately, the problem was the last thing that I checked. I finally pulled out the fuel pressure gauge and found my fuel pressure was at 55 psi. It turned out to be the fuel pressure regulator which was stuck shut and needed to be replaced.
