heavy85
I tested the compression on my L28 and found all cylinders to be from the low 170's up to 180 PSI. This is good news because I was worried one might be low. However, since atmospheric is ~14.7 PSI would that mean I'm running somewhere near 12:1 compression ratio ? Thanks Cameron
Guest BigWhyteDude
If you were you would know it. If you are useing pump gas and not having a major problem with detonation then no your not running that high. Some one posted a formula to get a good idea of what kind of compression you are running. Try looking it up. Have fun i suck at math Andrew
Guest Citizen_Insane
Don't worry about it. My honda with 10.4:1 compression checks out at 185 psi. The motor only has about 30,000 miles on it and there is no indication of carbon build up. So yeah....dont worry, it should be fine, although I have no clue what your stock compression is. If it were like 8.5:1 then I'd worry.
JMortensen
Smaller cam = higher compression numbers. If memory serves you're about where a normal 2.8 NA should be. There are specs in the FSM if you have one.
