HI Guys!

Im a newbie to the post and i need some help!!!

I recently purchased a 78 280z 2+2 the car of my dreams, but its not running the guy told me it had a fuel delivery problem and that he thought it could be the pump.

Can anyone outhere tell me of a quick way to test the pump, or what other tests i should do to diagnose the fuel problem?

Thanks!!!

DISCLAIMER this may not be the safest but....

pull your fuel pump. run a line into a gas can, wire to a good ground, and touch a hot line to your car battery. if you get gas flying out, it's good.

oh. and no smoking!!!! :nono:

Fuel pumps are rated by gal/hr. The best way is to pull the return line off after the regulator. You need to check fuel pressure still but this way you can measure the volume at 36 psi and above and know how much power your pump can supply fuel for. A stop watch and gas jug is all you need. some stock pumps won't put out moe than 50 psi though.
