New dyno numbers!

Thanks, :) Im fairly happy with it. If I had something other then the SDS, and time to tune her, I could get 10 more hp, and another 30tq.

Here's the kicker... My first run on the dyno was 254, and 245wtq. I checked the a/f on the plot, and saw it was leaning out to 14.5ish:1 around 4500rpm.... So I told the guy to hold on, I backed the engauge point for the SDS EIC, and upped the fuel just a hair, and BOOM - 10whp, and 80ft/lbs :) I wishhhhhhhh I had an SAFC or something on the car to fine tune her. :( I could pull at least 10 more hp, and 30 or so ft/lbs.

Very nice # Cronic. Friend of mine from Chicago dynoed 275whp and about same torque as you but he is on stock electronics and 15psi. If i EVER lol get my car worked out i am shooting for 300whp on t-3. Call me crazy but i think that i have a good shot at it :D .

Ps. What injectors are you running and what kind of i/cooler?

Congrats....that's some beautful numbers...sounds like you are not too impressed with the fine tuning capabilities of the SDS? There should be no reason to have a SAFC with a stand alone?

I have heard a few people comment on the same fine tuning ability of the SDS and degree of mapping.

Either way delicious numbers.

Cronic is using the SDS EIC which is only a controller for extra injectors. If he were using a full SDS system he would have the fine tuning ability that he desires. Big difference in systems, big difference in price, big difference in performance. ;)

I think the issue with the SDS is not so much it's ability to fine tune - it's more about the fact that it's really hard to know what to tune it to. Without datalogging capability, you are mostly just guessing.

Granted the lack of datalogging can be a disadvantage, but you can still do more than guess. With a few hundred dollars for wideband, EGT, some dyno time, etc. you can really dial things in. Even with datalogging you aren't able to gather much in the way of useful info without one of these tuning aids.

I guess what I am saying is that you can log until you are blue in the face, but if you aren't able to log the right things, it isn't going to help you much!

Yeah, I have the EIC. I've never seen 275whp on stock turbo @ 15psi, that's... insane. Good job on that.

I have an EVO5 intercooler on the car.

On a side note, Im not very impressed with the EIC from SDS, the consistancy of the fuel delivery is horrible. My a/f was so spikey, from 11-13:1 all the way down the line, just up and down until we let off. It's very unimpressive.

Cronic - I was pretty impressed too

It made 274 Hp and 326 torque at 15 psi and stock electronics on 370cc.

From the sheet it looks like its running extremely rich below 3500 and very lean above 4000 so in other words its putting that kind of power out and its still hitting 13.0 A/F. I don't suppose thats anything to be proud of but thats about as good as I can manage on stock electronics considering my base Fuel Pressure is about 43-45 lbs

Anyways the car ran 12.70's all day with a slipping clutching and no 3rd 4th synchro. numbers say it should do 12.3-4

Who knows

Z car's are so crazy with how they make power on some, and almost none on others... Yours makes some incredible power for only 15psi, All the one's i've seen barely make 230whp on 15psi. I should be mid 12's with the setup, but I'm still on stock tires and rims. So I dont think anything better then a low 13 is in my future. Im not buyin the rims and tires until the body work/rust and paint is done.

More details please!!! You mean 100% stock EFI? Stock injectors? Fuel pump??? He's got one hell of a blessed Z if he's getting that much power out of stock everything....

EDIT: Garrett76zt, is that you that Ivan is talking about?? Heh well the 370's would explain it... still VERY impressive for stock everything else though. I just dynoed my turbo on stock everything except fuel pump and got about 280ft lbs of torque at 12-14psi of boost, no hp peak number though as it ran super lean at 4500rpm so we let off. *sigh* I need more money

525,

Yeah i was talking about Garretts car. His whole fuel setup is something like this i belive: t-rex fuel pump, 370's, billet fuel rail, and stock fpregulator. Man his car is monster from 3k to 5k she sure likes to be all over the road :D . I am sure he will chim in as soon as he is back from Florida.
