My rear brake line busted last week so i got brand new one from napa replaced the damn thing, bleed the brakes twice all around it freaking shoots the damn fluid out but afther about 30min of drive they went to shit again. Its weiard before i get ready to stop i have to pump them few times so they can get some feel and car stops but brakes almost bottom out. So i will take a look at it when i get up and see where is the damn vacum leak if there is one (fluid is fine afther driving). What i dont get is when the car is off hit the brakes few times and they are fine and firm, take it around the block they go to shit again . If i dont get it figured out i guess i will have to come up there in some kind of limp mode 8) . On the side note when i got new rear line i can swear that from looking inside of it that damn thingit looked way larger than old original one ehhhhh. 240Z-DET Posted October 4, 2004 Share Posted October 4, 2004 First of all I want to thank Mat for inviting us all to his home for the BBQ. I had a good time meeting everyone there was real cool, even the MF who tried to run me over. I had my first ride in a S30 turbo conversion and I must say I doubted that it would've been that fast. A couple of years ago I was going to do the swap, but I didn't think it was worth it. Garrett proved I was dead wrong. I am still sticking with my LT1 conversion, but I have much respect for the 280ZX turbo conversion. Those who are thinking about it, DO IT. Mat, I accidently left my rear diff brace over at your house, so I'll try to get it from you later. Other notes; Evo is a pimp, Garrett is a player, 80LT1 is a mack and Mat is Magic Don Juan. Next year, we should all have our cars running so I hope to expect an even larger turn out where we can also plan either a 1/4 or road race around a specific date. LOL I also got my first ride in a S30 turbo car heck for that matter I got my first ride in an S30. Thanks again Garret! I must also say that I was extremly impressed with the power that L28ET was putting out! I had no idea how a turbo cars power felt but dammmmmmmnnnnnnnn! I love it! Its not instant TQ like a V8 but when that boost comes on its sure feels like a V8! I swear to god Im going to have my car there next time! Its no fun driving my Dakota up there when you guys have your cars there! And I gotta show Ivan what a V8 can do! V8 hater! LOL Thanks again Mat for hosting the party. Hopefully next time we can have it on a Saturday so I can stay later. I would have loved to stick around but since I had a 2 hour drive I figure it was best to leave early incase I got lost on the way home! The turnout was pretty decent and the weather was great. The party just stopped a few minutes ago, almost 12am! We decided to to take Garrett's and Evo's Z's up to the HWY (8 mile long crusing spot), and the traffic was below par, but still had some fun. Evo almost got pulled over racing a Eclipse GSX, but the GSX got pulled instead . I'll let him tell the story. Good times Mike S, You are the MAN!!!! Okay, here's what happened... Mike shows up and one of the first sentences out of his mouth is "look what I made", and "I have six of them", yeah, Ron Tyler style differential mounts. I then take him into the kitchen to show him the seven Ron Tyler differential mounts that I'm making. What are the odds Now to top it all off, he says with a smile on his face, "they're yours, they're free". You were the hero to all of us here, although I had to explain what the piece of nicely sculpted metal was that they were holding in thier hands to a few of them. From all of us, THANK YOU MIKE! Oh, by the way Pete P., I think Mike has you beat for the longest labor of love. 13 years is it Mike But you should see the pictures of his car, holy moly! ZZ4 crate engine to boot! Although the Green Bay Packers didn't win today, the day was still great with all of you here. A few guys want to do this again in a month! Well, maybe, but there will definetly be a second one! Rob, we'll rip it up and show these "inline" guys what's up next time! Oh about your differential brace, you can have one of mine, so John, keep yours. One thing I must appoligize for is not being in one place to sit and chat with everyone. I feel bad about that. I met all these new people and never got to know them. That's just one bad thing about being a host. Maybe next time, I'll have it catered so I can just sit down and relax with the rest of you. To those that left early, my cousin Angie's husband came over and he is a VERY good chef (literaly, he's a chef), so he whipped up some awsome burgers as a snack for us, YOU MISSED IT. I was givin out joy rides left and right . . .and it was great! My apologies guys, I am still having some serious fuel issues, It'll be much faster next time! The best was when John was in the car . . . we were getting ready to pull into Mat's driveway when a GSX rolls by with a big frontmount on it . . . So of course I pull a nice smokey u-turn in front of Mat's house and chase him down . . . we pull over he tells me he has a P-something turbo(can't remember) but it was bigger than a 16g at 17 psi with FMIC and some type of tuning computer, and bigger injectors. So he takes us over to some street and we hit it from a dead stop. I had the drag radials on and John in the car and still I WALKED him . . . BAD! By Fourth he was about 10-15 cars back! Not even close. On another note Ivan beat me for the first time tonight! We finally got some of his fuel issues sorted out with the wideband and his car moves out! I gave him the hit from a stop and he got one car on me and held that one car through most of third! In fourth gear on the interstate I still pull away from him pretty good, but he is certainly making some more power now! Ok, so . . . Mat, I gotta say thanks so much. You are a very generous host. We got food and used nearly every tool you own including a brake line bender! Anyways, we are for sure doing it again . . . and next time you can give me a ride in your car! First off a HUGE thanks to Matt for having us all at his house and big thumbs up for being great host. So this is how my day went. Afther coming to Matts house my brakes were kinda gone so afther meeting few guys that were there we went to work to find out that my rear left hard line had busted so most of my day was spent working, cussing, eating, and some more cussing but with Pauls and Matts help we got that thing worked out so finally i could devote my time to some beeeerrrrr. Since i drink like twice a year it did not take me much to get in very happy mood. When everyone was gone Matt and Garrett cruised out in Garretts car and Matt's sister Tara rode with me btw that is first female that has ever rode in my car but probablly the only one that will ever ride again ohhh well at least she was super hot one 8) (sorry Matt lol). When we went to this cruise spot we just happend to run on awd second gen. talon so we had him sandwiched me on left side, dsm in middle, and Garrett's car on right side. We went second gear roll and talon pulled little on me but by time we hit third i was waving bye bye. So we get to the stop light (at this time Garrett turned off) and i try to talk to this two little dipshits but it turns out that they were to damn cool and crap so i ask him if its gst (fwd) or gsx (awd) and he said its gst with stock turbo but since i know thing or two about those cars i knew it was bunch of bs. So the light is about to turn green and he starts reving living hell out of that thing at that time i see under cover cop car coming behing us (thats why Garrett turned off the road to begin with) light goes green kid dumps livning crap out of it stays on it for while in mean time i just leave line like any normal law obeying driver would do 8) next thing you know lights come on and little prick is getting pulled over talk about getting owned by z's and the cops :malebitchslap: hahahahah. Afther that Tara guided me through some side streets and we went back to Matt's house. Talk about good times. On our way home at about 11:30pm as i am getting on interstate my car just dies so i pull over to find out that my fuel pump in not coming on. As it turns out that from working on brake lines i got my positive wire loose so i just got that thing tight and i was back in the game. As we were driving back this integra rolls up on us with dude driving and his girl in shotgun. So i dont think much of it as i am riding behind Garrett but when he got next to him dude in integra went for it ehhhhh that was mistake L-28T was all over that ass so if that was not enough i decided that i want some of this action so we line up for some three way (got to love threesome) and off we go little integra keeps up for sec or so but i guess his bottle must have run low becuase few seconds later that thing was few bus lenghts behind (about 130mph) so we had dsm for dinner and integra for dessert talk about balanced diet but the guy was cool and gave me honk and thumbs up (all Garrett got was his g/f look on her face as he was walking away). We finally got to our exit and Garrett draged me to this nice spot so we went at it twice from stop (i got kick because he was on drag radials) and ohhh yeah baby my little huffy was spinning mind boggling 10psi and was putting some hurt on mr. 15psi Garrett. He did however pull on my in fourth gear roll by about car or two ohhh well. Matt your cousin giving her husband jerking lesson will be classic . Guys it was great metting you all my cheez heads (got to represent), big thanks to Mike for giving out SIX DIF. MOUNTS i will for sure put that thing to good use again thanks alot Mike. It was great to meet you all guys and ladies and i hope to see you all very soon again but next time i will not be working on my junk . Ps. Rob if you want to get in our little special people circuit you will have to go with some dubs at least but 22's would be my personal pick so that way everyone can get off my ass for running 18's . Here is a pic of the rear wheel that's going on my Z. http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=3539470093 It's a 19X10 with a 4" lip. It's a 5X114 bolt pattern with a low offset. The fronts are 19X8.5 with a 2.5" lip. These are the Davin Speed SP1 wheels. Not quite 22's, but at least these should take some pressure off of you.
