Guest 305240
One of those worthless do nothing teens just got saved. I just picked this up at my local JY for 30 bux! It won't take much body work to mold it in. It is the look I was looking for! Now it will have to wait it's turn. Right now it's toward the bottom of my list, but I couldn't pass it up at that price! Guest DiZeased_240
I'm going to take a guess and say it is out of a recent Ford F150.
Guest 305240
There are actually 2 styles, both from late model 4x4's. one out of a 150 and the other out of a ranger. They come in black or silver grey. I chose the black because I wanted the blacked out style. I'm thinking of raising the grill to just fit under the hood and fill the bottom area. I had toyed with the idea of cutting it in thte middle and the bumper would fill the cut area. But, I don't want the bumper. I'm going with polished solid aluminum upright nurf bars on either side of the grill, cobra style. I have a 280 header panel welded onto a 240 body, because the old one was cut off and I got what was left. It's a relatively rust free body. The only rust I found was a small patch under the battery tray (easy fix) and the lip under the rear deck lid above the tail lights. I cut that out and welded a whole new piece from the 280 donar car. I've got 6, 4" chrome malitse tail lights comming for the rear. It will be intersting how I set those in. God, I love custom fabbing. I wanted the open style for both looks and air flow. The twin K&N cold air snorkle air filters are going to look great behind that grill! Guest 305240
Already ahead of you guys. I have the chrome Cobra medalions and the chrome Z. Hence the license plate I'm ordering: Cobra Z. I also got enough to go on the fenders to replace the Datsun. I also have a set to go between the malitse tailights. By the way...The grill in the pic is set down too far. It will be placed up just under the lip of the hood. The lower valance will be filled. I won't be running any bumpers, (just nurf bars, cobra style) so the front license plate will be below the grill. I'm also using 65-66 mustang parking/turn signal lights. Guest 305240
I try as much I can to put some time in on my Cobra Z inbetween the thousands of other projects I seem to accumulate. I have my Friends T-bird that has to get done asap. Then my 76 is next for my daily driver. But before that, I need to detail my 81 turbo and get it ready for sale. Not to mention my 84 turbo that needs rr quarter work as well as a A arm, and of course paint. Did I mention the wife is wanting me to make her a new bed and a set of night stands for her birthday in Dec? Then there is the back proch that needs attention....and the list goes on and on.
