Guest Zcarsmakemyheadhurt
I got a stage V CM on Mikes car, with a Fedenzia flywheel and a 6 puck. Same combination I had on my ZX and I like it alot, so far. On a budget I would do a 86 turbo plate and 6 puck bronz, I personally have never had any success with organic disk on my L28 cars. Jersey
Just an opinion cronic, i would change out to a stronger PP if you're going to pull the trans. I think the most important factor on slippage, or lack of, is not the disk or the flywheel, it's the clamping force of the PP. Good luck. Guest Cronic
I will certainly change out the PP if this thing starts to slip. However, I have several months before Im making the 500whp I can't wait for the ringlands to break because of power. That's just fun. Guest Cronic
Everyone here thinks Im nuts for even considering 20psi on stock turbo. When I put down 324tq @ 3000rpm everyone was stuned. All I heard from everyone was "WTF?!" and "Holy crap that thing got up and went on the dyno!". It was fun. I wish I could've gotten a clean run when I made the 399wtq the other week. This weekend I hope to be able to run constant 20psi. I'll bring it back, and maybe I'll get in the 300whp club. On stock turbo, it's pretty rare. I didn't realise the PP from a Z31 would fit on the L flywheel, mainly 'cos I know nothing about clutches. I've just got hold of a Z31 to break, grabbing the T5 box out of it for my 240Z. If I get a 240mm flywheel would I also be able to use the friction plate from a Z31 turbo? At the moment I've only got a very asmatic 2.4 but plans are well underway for a 3l stroker so I'm going to need a decent clutch system at some point. Cheers, Rob

Is the PP still good? oh my what shall i do?relax, while the thing wore wierd, turns out I had the worng throwout collar on the trans, I used the one that came with it and it's the shorter one, I just got the longer one, also I abuse mine pretty bad, it's a race car, it sees very little if any street use and when it does see the street I keep doing smokey second gear burnouts, I also am using the 225mm setup for lack of locating the larger flywheel, but I'd say the limits of the CFDF are not what I expected especially after some of the responces in this thread

Hence why you can get away with an organic disc just fine by using a stronger PP, and get all the benefits of the stronger clutch with none of the drawbacks of the metallic ones. Guest Cronic
The thing is, the stock PP has a LOT of clamping force. The metallic will help to keep it from slipping. If need be, I will upgrade the plate later. Which is only a 4 hour job. I took the car out last night for a brisk few runs, tryin to dial in the a/f, the clutch did a good job at 22psi (leveling off to 18.) and 140mph. I think she's doing her job. This may just be a case of "different strokes for different folks". :dunno:
