datsunlover Posted November 8, 2004 Share Posted November 8, 2004 I don't know about that.. didn't the maxima use the V6 starting in '84? (first year of the 300zx AND that 'new' V6..) If I'm right on that, then I'm almost positive it's NOT the same trany.. at least, it probly wouldn't 'bolt up' to a Z L6 engine. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Yes, this 1984 tranny will bolt up to any L-series Z or ZX engine. Ratios are: 1st-----3.321 2nd----2.077 3rd----1.308 4th----1.000 5th----0.752 Rev----3.382 Note: The 5 speed Maxima _diesel_ had the same ratios except that 5th gear was 0.833.
