EvilRufusKay
I am planning on the 5 lug swap and need wheels that are wider than what I seem to be able to find conventionally. Besides custom (expensive) wheels does anyone know where I can find 18" x 12" even 13" 5 lug. If I have to buy custom wheels i will probably forego the 5 lug as it would be pointless. Thanks for the help! Rufus
Mikelly
Uh that one is gonna be hard. THe widest I've found the Cobra Rs is 10.5. I've been keeping an eye out for a serious deal on some light weight 17X9 and 18X9s on Ebay and I've not seen any wider than 10.5 in the 6 weeks I've bee searching! PhaTTy
Best I found is below: http://www.performancewheeloutlet.com/detail.asp?pt=280+Series+Cobra+R Cobra R wheels 17x10.5 , 17x9 I know someone else (somewhere) had these on his Z with the 5 lug conversion with 275/40's on the rear and 240/45's on front I believe. Dan Juday
If you are going five lug then you can get Ross's hubs with the Chevy bolt circle. There must be more options with Chevy wheels.
Guest DiZeased_240
There are plenty of options available for the Cobra 5-lug pattern. The problem with most of them is the offsets that are available, especially if you want to go wide. Spacers are a must unless you do a custom build. That's the route I'm taking, probably CCW's. If you stay with the stock 4-lug I think you will most likely have to go custom if you want the width and size you described. I haven't seen any options that large out there, maybe someone else has and could chime in.
SBC_400
there are probobly more options in the chevy bolt pattern, I just picked up a set of corvette zr1 rear (17x11) wheels for my z on ebay, and only cost me $100 bucks
EvilRufusKay
excuse my ignorance...but what is the difference between the cobra and chevy bolt pattern? Aren't they both 4.5"?
Mikelly
The Ford MUstang Cobra pattern is 5X4.5 (Metric is 5X 114.3) and the Chevy is 5X4.75! Mike
EvilRufusKay
Thank you mike! So...the 300 zx hub is 4.5 which will allow me to use cobra wheels. However Ross sells both options for the 300z as well as a modified version for the chevy 4.75?... where he probably just re-drills the existing hub? zemus
If you want wheels in a low or negative offset, id recommend checking the the for sale section of http://www.zilvia.net http://www.ziptied.com http://www.takumiproject.com On zilvia ive seen some 18x12 with a -12 offset (would requite possably widebody) and 18x11 in front for 1200$, which is a steal IMO, 5x114.3 Again these are quite agressive offsets and widths, you might needs the YZ (iirc) Wide body to run these, Im not sure a normal 30mm ZG flaire will cover it.
