...and that's on a V-rated 140-90 street tire, albeit with only 15psi. With full pressure I can still pull 1.6 60ft's.

I have a 3" extended swingarm and dropped rigid forks (no springs), so it launches HARD.

I have a buddy with the same bike only with a huge shot of nitrous and a slick, and he runs 8.1 @ 146mph w/ 1.1 60ft's. Fun shit.

Got one of my own as well! You'll notice the rach marks on it... This ZX9R has been worked over well for suspension, brakes, and tuning and puts 131HP to the rear wheel... Previous owner let a guy "TEST RIDE" it and the bike was dumped at low speed (About 10mph) in gravel when the tool was making a u-turn... I bought the bike for $3700 out of pocket and fixed the rashed panels with lesser rashed panels off ebay...

The bike weighs 422pounds soaking wet and full of gas...

w000000t well speak of the devil :twisted::twisted:

I FINALLY got one to play! C5 hardtop, no Z06 of course (no black vents in front of the rear wheels... that's the only way to visually distinguish them right?). Caught this one at a freeway onramp. There's a series of little sidestreets, in Glendale, which merge directly onto the 134 freeway (this is in SoCal). So basically there's a light and then a straight shot onto the freeway, and the ramps go down, the freeway is below street level. So I'm waiting for the green light and a nice bright yellow C5 pulls up next to me on my passenger side. Windows are tinted so I couldn't see if the driver looked over or what. Anyways... I wasn't expecting them to go for it(they never do) but sure enough light turns red and this person kinda pushes it off the line, giving just enough juice to get a little squeak from the tires... and for me that was like ... "It's ON!!" so I punch it and... wait an eternity for the turbo to realize I want to go and BANG!! I figure this person thought it was just going to be "hmmm give it a little extra gas just enough to get in front of this old POS car whatever it is". But whatever when he/she heard the exhaust suddenly turn to a roar and saw me jump out in front they went for it too. Let me tell you... we were nose and nose (well I had about a 2 foot lead? from getting on it first). Pulled up to about 75mph right before the merge and the Vette lets off... didn't have a choice as the right onramp lane merges into the left one before then merging onto the freeway! Man I could not help but laugh. I was very impressed with my Z... for what seemed like a very long 5 or 6 seconds, I can not say I noticed the Vette pulling away, which I expected it would... literally seemed dead even to me. I love that the car feels just the tad bit faster when going like that DOWN hill as well... a real rush.

I've raced tons of imports in this thing, from Civics to an Evo, a couple of musclecars and the requisite mustangs, and won just about every race, but I must say, this was the most satisfying race of them all, even though I wouldn't count it as a real victory.... but just satisfying to know that I can actually keep up with one of these cars. Too bad for the tinted windows on the Vette... I'd have loved to see whatever expression the driver had as they blasted by me 30 seconds later at what looked to be about 100mph :shock: ........

I know what ya mean about wanting to see the person reation. There is an onramp by my house that you go from about 5mph at the entrance to the ramp to highway spped by the end of it(not very long). It's fun to watch peoples reaction when I get up to faster than highway speed before the end of the ramp and pass them. Some even try to block you but, thats no proublem.

Freeway onramps are just about the last fun I get to have any more... I've gotten a little too nervous about driving fast on the streets, let alone actually racing. Just doesn't seem worth the risk anymore, you know? At least the onramp is one place where you're really supposed to accelerate briskly.

The reason you guys aren't getting to many Vette overs to pay attention to you is probably because ( I know in my case atleast) every idiot with a half way hopped up car or truck pulls up and wants to race you... I'm amazed at what people will bring to a stoplight and rev to the limiter to get my attention... I just shake my head and laugh!

Back two years ago when my paint was fresh and super shiny I used to get alot of the beater honda etc... that would want to race and I used to do the same thing. But, now it's like Phantom said "I get no respect"

My older son borrowed the 280Z28 a few weeks ago and had a guy driving a Honda with fart can and multiple stickers pull up next to him at a light and rev his engine a couple times. Eric just did a long slow rumbling rev with the LS1 and the guy immediately lowered his eyes and looked straight ahead. Both of them just eased off the line when the light changed. He obvioulsy knew who had the biggest at that point. That was one of the best "kills" Eric ever got. :D

I can't say I blame the Vette owners, I don't doubt what Mikelly said was true, but still... if it were me in the Vette  I'd be more than happy to show each one of the fartcan bunch what's UP! Would do them good. Anyways... anyone who considers themselves a car guy (I'm sure most Vette owners would?) ought to know the difference between a Z and a damn honda. Hell I knew what Z's were back when I was a Camaro guy, and always thought they were fast cars. Even if I didn't know what they were, I would definately not look at one and lump into the fixed up honda category... the look of a Z conveys instant respect, IMO.

Sorry Mike but I also think a lot of Vette owners just roll around with a chip on their shoulder like that.... hell you yourself just stated that you just look at what many of the guys that 'challenge' you are driving and laugh... when in truth, you really have no idea what they might have under the hood or what their cars are capable of.
