He stacks his bike doing a stunt in the fast lane of what looks to be a busy freeway, then he further injures himself when he stacks his wheelchair doing a wheelie?? In the hospital while recovering???? Thats almost funny if it wasn't so serious.

What a madman!

Darius, in the unlikely event that you are actually reading this: does the phrase "DARWIN AWARDS" mean anything to you??

You got guts, man, but it's better to be alive. That looked, ahem, painful...

Supermen race on race courses, stunt men perform in stadiums or some prescribed area; morons race and do stunts on the street. You think that's cool? How about the first time someone swerves into oncoming traffic trying to avoid you as you're falling down from some brain-fart induced stunt and hits someone head-on? What if one, or both, vehicles involved is carrying an infant who dies or is crippled for life? I'm saying this because I had a friend and her unborn son killed when she tried to avoid some would-be Evil Kneivel falling down on the street while trying to impress his friends. Superman? Bullshit. Reckless and irresponsible is more like it. I ride too, so I've nothing against bikes; just some of the morons who operate them.

I must say I agree with Quantrex. It's cool if you want to pull crazy stunts etc. Just not on a busy crowded highway. Do it on the track or some sanctioned event.

My friend Chad was killed last november while riding his cbr600 on the highway and Big Bubba in his duelie truck wasnt paying attention.

Point is it dangerous enough out there with out trick riding in traffic.

Be cool! Stay out of the obituaries!

Hmmmm. Getting out of bed in the morning is a calculated risk, you could step on something sharp or fall down and get hurt, yet I do it every morning. I also engage in traffic, even though I'm aware that upwards of 20 percent of the drivers are drunk. Sometimes I speed, I have had unprotected sex. Everything I do is a risk, I would never walk a tightrope over Niagara, but it has been done. We all take risks all the time, in traffic there are laws that govern the risks we are allowed to take, but anybody who is on this board has broken those rules (figured it was worth the risk). So Darius was stuntriding in rushtraffic, he must have thought it was worth the risk, this time he paid for it too. I hope he gets well soon. And I will get on with my life b_hand.gif

I'm with Quantrx & zfan on this one. If you want to risk your own life be my guest. If you want to risk mine and loose be prepared to deal with the consequenses of being Bubbas' girlfriend for 8 to 10,or worse having a family member of mine come a callin'on you. I though that stunt riding BS was cool when I was 10, but to each his own.

Thure, Taking risk is one thing... Riding like that IN TRAFFIC and around UNSUSPECTING motorists is just unacceptable in my opinion. I lost a cousin a few years back due to two other kids who were drag racing... Guy crossed the double solid line and Hit Mealony Head on doing so much damage that it took over an hour to cut what was left of her out of the car. Had to be a closed casket. I had the task of collecting personal effects from the car before the insurance company had it sent to salvage and the destruction was unimaginable. Calculated risks are one thing, takihng liberties with unsuspecting innocent lives is another... Darius didn't have an accident. It was an incident caused by his actions. Had someone else be collected in the incident, it would truly have been traggic.

Now, I don't want to be called a hypocrit, YES I SPEED. Yes I have ridden a wheelie, and yes I have ridden faster than I probably should on the street in both cars and on bikes (Hell, even my truck..). I Don't do it around pedestrians, moving vehicles or on busy streets, and I always encourage going to the race track. On any given evening (Like last night for example) I'll have between 3-10 guys in the 15-22 year old range come by my house to BS... I'm ALWAYS reminding them that we have LOTS of racing options around locally, and none of them on the street. It simply isn't worth risking the lives of others, jail time, or litigation.

My $.02, but when you lose someone you care about to the senseless negligance of someone else, you might rethink your actions... Darius will either kill himself or someone else if he continues... Killing himself is his business... Damaging someone elses personal property, injuring them, or worse is just plain wrong, not to mention the impact to health insurance and motorcycle insurance costs. This type of stuff is KILLING the sport of motorcycling...

Mikelly, I agree with you. But anytime you are taking a risk, it involves somebody else. Who thought it was worth the risk being out of bed that day.

And take a look at the risks Darius was taking: there was a concrete divider (low risk of headon collision), other people around him where all wearing metal boxes (low risk of injury to other people), He was doing a wheelie with metalboxes around him doing 80 or 85 (flat out stupid in my opinion, high risk of impact and death), there's a risk his insurance company sees these pics(low risk, but if they do big impact).

A lot of us here take unnecessary risks and somebody could get hurt, why do we do it? To get the rush from it?

Praise the people who take care not to involve other people in their own risk taking. And realize that just being out there you run the risk of encountering somebody who doesn't care if you are involved in his risks.
