PUSHER
Hook a battery up to the gas pump under the car and try starting it. Random thought: I dont know whats worse, all caps or caping the beginning of every word.
GabeRoc
or listen for the fuel pump to run when you turn the key... it does sound like a fuel or electrical problem. check your wires, check for fuel flow, make sure you're not leaking air after the maf... look for that thing you forgot to hook up. --gabe
PUSHER
Im pretty sure you wont hear anything because a 280z doesnt prime like newer cars.
datsunlover
Actually, my 280 did something before starting.. the pump would come on (and run continuously..) and there were 5-6 'clicks' from the engine bay.. not sure if this was normal though, as it had a failing FI system. Tim240z
Check all the electrical connections....I assume that the injectors are plugged in? Something in the engine bay is unplugged.
Guest 260ondubs
My stock intank fuel pump did prime when I turned the key. It was very audible. So should your's... unless it has died.
PUSHER
My car didnt start a while ago and then randomly started, when I checked for voltage I got 0 when the car was in accessories and I think I got like 5 volts when the car was running. God only knows whats wrong with it, but its starting and running now.
