datsunlover Posted February 9, 2005 Share Posted February 9, 2005 That would more than likely be your heater core (under the dash) leaking, or posibly one of the hoses going to it. This sucks, (I've been there) and there's only two options; you can either unhook/plug the hoses in the engine bay (and have no heat) OR pull the dash out and replace what's leaking. COZY Z COLE Posted February 9, 2005 Share Posted February 9, 2005 Had this happen on my 80 280ZX last year and my leak was in the heater core and this is no easy project. The dash must come out and while your there replace the hoses. Be careful with the plastic air ducts and vacum lines, esp. their routing. It's smart to have a helper with you. Jolane Posted February 9, 2005 Share Posted February 9, 2005 Had this happen in my 83 280ZX also. Mine as NOT a leaking core though, rather it was the heater control valve. I did not pull the dash to swap this, but it was not easy to do. It is doable though. Getting the part from Nissan was the hardest part of the job at $125+.
