tonycharger72
Was thinking about sticking a V8 into my 260z, looked at getting a Chevy 350motor, but...........im really into mopars and would love to stick to MOPARS, so was thinking of either a 318 or 360 engine, Was thinking............... The sump position of the 360 passenger cars (pre-magnum) is bang smack in the middle of the block (well slightly to the front) and in Australian Chryslers (all variants of the A bodies from the States) the sump had to sit between the K frame at the front and the drag link at the back, so its probably not to different to where the L-24, L-26, L-28 sumps sit in, So, i figure you would pretty much just have to fabricate some engine mounts to sit the motor in place, And because the Z dosent have a torsion bar front like the Chryslers, sticking, for example a Tremec behind the 360 shouldnt require hacking the living daylights outta the trans tunnel to get it to fit, so there would be the easier possibility of running an over-drive box without to many fabrication dramas,

rags
There are many posts for Chrysler swaps. Start here http://forums.hybridz.org/search.php?searchid=67639
Phantom
Personnally I'd opt for the 340 over either the 318 or the 360. Much better heads with more HP & torque. Having owned a 340 'Cuda I know that engine will get up and move.

dot
It was not all that hard of a swap really. The mount positions are close to the Datsun’s. Some square tube and a welder will have your engine in. And that is the easy part. The problem is the exhaust and some interference of the through out fork. My solution was a set of home made headers and a hydraulic through out slave pushing on the dodge fork. If you can, use the A body bell housing as the fork sits lower. If a T56 will fit in there then most transmissions will fit. At the time I was deep in mortgage and diapers so this swap was done as cheaply as possible. The most expensive part was the stick welder.
