fredtam
If any of you need some space to document your projects I will give you 100Mb of disc space and 1gig/month bandwidth for free. No ads, no crap, etc. This includes pop3 email, mysql database, front page extensions, blah blah blah. Also fantastico installer which includes many scripts for forums, shopping carts, blogs, galleries etc.ALL I ASK is that you put up at least one page that documents in detail something you have done (irs swap, ecu swap, speaker placement, I don't care just something). If you don't understand something ask and I will try to help but I am by no means a webmaster. This is hosting (reseller) that used to be allotted to my forums which I 86'd a year ago. Obviously I only have so much space/ bandwidth but wouldn't mind adding more and giving it away provided something useful came of it. This would also mean you would have a short time to get something up because otherwise you would be not using space someone else could actually be using. If you need more space/ bandwidth I'm sure something reasonable could be worked out.Videos.....if you wish to host vids the bandwidth allotted may not be enough but I will gladly host them. This is actually one of the reasons I offered this. TurboMeister (sp?) said he would have to take one down to put another up (I can understand the admins limiting this).I know, I know you can go to cardomain.com but I'm trying to give a little more flexibility.Of course this would require that you have a domain name which I suggest getting from Namecheap.com. $8.88.Contact me to get the nameserver to point to and setup an account if you are interested.Since you have read all this you might as well read my one complaint. Stop saying "SEARCH". Facts and opinions change and a thread that might have been relevant 6 months ago may not be now. To make things worse I do search. Then I find a thread that screams "there is what you need to know". I open it and it says "search and you will find tons of info". Well I'm not finding "tons of info" I'm finding a ton of people saying "search". Edited September 30, 2015 by fredtam
blueovalz
Sounds interesting. I'm not sure I understand all that I've read (I don't even own a DVD player and my computer is 5 years old) but it sounds like a very nice offer.
fredtam
Sounds interesting. I'm not sure I understand all that I've read (I don't even own a DVD player and my computer is 5 years old) but it sounds like a very nice offer. Basically I'm offering a small website for free. People still use stand alone DVDs? I thought everyone switched to HTPCs where all your games/ music/ DVDs were at the touch of a remote which would make you really behind the times. Guess you got behind on things working on that sweet Z.Don't sweat the 5 year old PC but if you ever want to build your own shoot me an email. Surely anyone who can build a Z like that can put together 10 components.
pparaska
Guys, I'm really sorry, I split this thread to keep the hosting and search issues separate, and then Tim240Z saw identical threads and merged them. I saw that, and thought I was deleting posts in one of them and was going to go back and delete the irrevelant posts in the other copy I made ,but then found it was gone. So all the stuff about searching is gone for good. Sorry, two moderators working on the same thread at the same time and we didn't know what the other was doing. Apologies, Pete
