S30 without shiny window trims?

I had all the trim for the windows powdercoated semi-gloss black;

This includes:

-the shiny trim in the front and rear glass gaskets (to hide it so it all looked like it was gasket).

-door window frames

-1/4 window frames

-drip molding above doors

-Z circle emblem over vent in 1/4 sail panel

I painted the trim piece at the top of the door skin with black trim paint on the driver's side and used wide electrical tape to cover the one on the passenger side (cheesy, I know, but I was in a hurry to get the side mirror on).

You could have it all painted too, if you were to prep it well, but that can be tricky. It's all stainless steel, not chromed steel.

I have to re-do the stainless trim on my 90. For some reason or other, the paint is flaking off. It sure looks cheap. This time I'll do what the factory didn't do. I'll take some steel wool to the stainless first. I've done many black out stainless jobs. I've never had one flake off yet.

I had all the stainless steel trim powder coated aswell. I have some high res. pics in my album you can zoom in on. I did go through the trouble of removing the staples that hold the window squegee(sp?) on and it is more of a pain to get it back on and even looking then you would think. Just the right amount of pressure or it will be wavy. Mine is still wavy. :-(

It cost me $120 for every piece you could think of. Even the interior door handle cups and hatch strut braces were done. The only complaint I had was on the C pillar emblems. They both had a wire mark on them from the way they hang them in the oven. He said he had done emblems before, but when I pointed it out he got a little upset and said I should have given him proper hanging techniques for the emblems.

I'm now looking for another powder coater to do my rims in the same color, after I find another matching rim for the full size spare.

I think it was about $150. Prices for this stuff varies alot.

No Kidding! I've been looking into getting some engine pieces (rocker covers,front cover, intake manifold, plug cover) powdercoated and the quotes have ranged from $80 to $300. I generally ask to see samples of thier work. I'm wary of the shops that ONLY let you see color chips.
