RedZ85
I just put in 280Z stub axles into my 73 240Z. Im getting adaptors from Ross and have my cv's ready to go. I have been looking for the torque spec for the companion flange locking nut and have gotten numbers from 130lbs/ft to 240lbs/ft and a bunch in-between. Whats the deal? does anyone know a concret number here? Or have a FSM that says what it is supposed to be? I dont want to be over tightning these bolt and destroy my stub axles. Thanks for the info! -Ryan
2126
It's for sure a 200+ ft/lbs. .....Have you searched the archives?
zcarnut
The FSM says 180 to 240 ft-lbs.
Doug71zt
I recommend that you buy new nuts from Nissan, for the 280zx. They are nylon self-lockers and won't destroy the end of your stub axles like the stock 240 staked ones. They are quite cheap. Over 200 ft/lbs is good.
