Headman Headers for jtr position

My pro street nova broke down the other day. While waiting for AAA to pick me up a couple of guys from Headman Headers saw my car on the side of the road and asked if they could use my Nova in an advertisement for their company. We got to talking about headers and i brought up the subject of Datsun full length headers for the JTR position. I told them that most of the people here either run block huggers or are modifying a set of S&S headers.

I am in the process of converting my 260z for a v8. They wanted to know if any of the members have a working header that someone has modified to fit.

They would either copy it or tweak it to fit even better.

i dont have one to offer but i am excited about the oportunity. I would like to see a set like mike, i think it was, made that were a tri-y type setup.

on a less complex note. i only need a 3/4" primary to a 3" collector and a reducer to 2.5 inch pipe. nothing more. that should be plenty to hold my 400 -500 hp i'm shooting for.

my bad. BTW Tim I looked again at you webpage and saw that it was you who created those schweet look tyi-y headers. I think i would really like to have something similar. For the sake of being cheap I am gonna give a set out of a Camaro a try because they are likely free and available. Would sure be nice to skimp out on one major expense to get me ahead in this game.

Mike,

It would now be Bartman's decision. He is now the proud owner of the headers, and the engine that they are connected to.....

He is in SoCal, so maybe he would be interested.....those headers worked really nicely, esp. for knocking out resonance...

Yes, I'm the proud new owner and I may be interested. My conversion isn't completed yet, but the headers are installed. You can send me a PM about the details.

Bart,

I would say, that at a minimum, you should get a set of the new headers (coated like the ones you have now), for free out of the deal!!!

I'm sure that headman can produce a set of headers that are far better than what I whipped up. Since you would be providing the basis for Headmans profits, make sure you get something out of it!

For that matter, maybe I should get royalties.... :twak::twisted:

Here's a pic from Tim's web site of one of his custom made headers:

My car is now running and these headers are excellent! I think Tim put a lot of work into getting the maximum performance possible while still allowing necessary access (plugs, oil filter, etc). The tolerances are very tight, with just enough clearance at the mounts, steering, and frame.

There have been several people that have talked about having a major header company interested in making headers for our V8 Z's. Let's see if this one pans out:eek2: .
