DavyZ
I think I spelled it correctly... Anyway, does GMs skip-shift feature just prevent you from shifting from first gear into second or what? How does this thing work and what exactly does it do? Davy
Workinprogress
At certian speeds and throttle positions it locks out 2nd and makes you shift to 4th when you pull back on the shifter. It was to improve on gas mileage. Two ways to disable it. Get into the throttle more, or purchase a resistor from radio shack and trick the computer into thinking it doesnt need to engage the solonoid. Search the transmission forum at ls1tech.com (skip shift resistor mod) Grant
Tim240z
Davy, I just got a resistor, 1k ohm IIRC, and put in the plug at the gearbox, and tie-strapped it out of the way. Very simple override. I will try to find the post on it...... Tim Here ya go, Davy: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=90442&highlight=skip+shift

SBC_400
yea, it is a very easy fix, I did it to my brothers camaro, it took about 10 min and it was a $ .30 part
Phantom
Yeah - you'll definitely want to disable the skip-shift mode. I generally roll in 2nd and then go 3rd and then 5th or just straight to 5th from 2nd - unless I'm in a hurry or just playing around.
