Guest iskone
I'm defentily going to get my car appraised before hand from now on. Starting Monday I'm putting together as complete a list as possible to get the correct replacment value. $365 a year!!! I pay $2000 for six months!!! But hey I did just turn 25 this month so maybe I'll get a brake from now on. I was thinking that I only have 1 freaking arm for at least 3 months so any work I plan to DIY might not happen. Grant, I'll keep you in mind. I don't know whats going to happen yet. Isk
Turbo Meister
What kind of restrictions is your car under? Can you drive it unlimited miles? How expensive is the coverage you have? Joel, My Z is insured as a classic and there is a mileage limitation. But since I drive it mostly locally and no long road trips it's not bad. It is appraised at $29,500 and costs $270 annually. But consider that I have not had a traffic collision claim or traffic citation in 40 years( knock on wood ). Plus I have 2 other vehicles and homeowner insurance through State Farm. Guest iskone
They are trying to screw me. I made apayment that day and they are trying to tell me it doesn;t take effect till the next day. The rep at the time told me I was insured and that's what I told the claim department. So now I have to wait 3 weeks to get the tape. I had to file with the other ins company myself and should hear from them tomorrow. Isk
Guest iskone
So I guess I should say I'm looking for a shell as a backup. I don't think I could repair frame damage if there is any. Hmmmm how does a one arm man swap a drivetrain and supsension?? Isk
Guest iskone
Looks like things are not going my way at all. I've decided to sell the 240 and focus on fixing my house. So I'm putting her on ebay. It doesn't look like the frame was bent since it is stiffened, I just have priorities. Basically I want to refinance my house in November when I make some improvments and then use the equity to build a garage and an addition then start a new project from the ground up. Here are some pics of the damage. Isk
JMortensen
That's a real bummer dude. You probably won't get much out of it in that condition. Maybe hold onto it for a while until you can fix it. Seems a shame to sell such a unique Z for what will likely be pennies on the dollar.
Guest iskone
MAN!! Tell me about it. But I have to look at the big picture. I need the cash so I can get things done around my house. When this stuff is done I'll have about 30k in equity I can use to do more work on the house getting another 15k then start building a new Z. I'm gonna put it on ebay tonight. I want to run it without a reserve but can't bear the thought of letting her go so cheap. I figure most guys will just want my motor and just ditch the body but even that pains me with all the custom frame and drivetrain work. Guest ON3GO
any idea how much shipping would be to Florida? im thinking that would be a nice project for me to fix up for my dad.. or myself i know you put it on ebay but whats your reserve price your looking to get? so i know if i can afford it or not. thanks mike
Guest iskone
Well If you replaced the fender and headlight housing you could drive it to florida. I have no idea what shipping would be. As far s reserve goes I don't really want to post it, I might have to lower it if things don't pan out. You could make me an offer though. I need to sell my other e88 too. isk
Guest ON3GO
i would love to drive it back, but with lack of time, and school/work/moving... its getting sorta crazy. i really do want that car, i am worried about a few things with the crash and all. ill just keep my eye on that ebay add and see how things pan out. sorta running out of places i can put my cars in florida. mike

Guest 73Turbo240z
if it doesn't sell and starts to part out, i'd like to inquire about the carpet/diamond mat and some other tidbits... it sucks what happened, no doubt about that, but it sounds like you've got a good plan in motion for how to recover. Sparky
well that stinks, sorry to hear you have to sell it...although I am also interested in the car and will be watching your auction..I'm curious about your reserve..would you be willing to PM it to me? Guest iskone
You vultures!!! Everyone wants the reserve!!! LOL Let me see how things go for a while before I start giving up the rserve, you know that engine is killer don't you . I want it to go to a member so just keep an eye out or place a bid with your max. If you are a member and do bid let me know. Isk
RB26powered74zcar
Some low life bid his $6,500 then quickly retracted it, just to test the reserve I'm sure... oh, and the 29 bid retracts in the last 6 mo. gave it away gdill1974...
