Alright just a small introduction:

I currently drive a 1995 Chevy Caprice 9c1 (police package) with the LT1

have done a few mods to it, mostly exhaust/intake/computer related.

Original times:

0-60 - 7.3 (g-tech)

1/4 - 15.3 @ 93.9 (g-tech)

Current times

0-60 - 6.0 (g-tech)

1/4 - 14.2 @ 102.0 (g-tech)

- 14.4 @ 95.5 (track)

I have a video of my best run here:

I am currently in the planning stages of a Hybrid Z

Turns out I am getting a free SBC 350 out of a 90 caprice cop car, it is the TBI 350. I will probably convert it to a carburated setup and aim for 400-500 HP out of it. Not much street driving for the Z mostly fun, I want a wicked idle, and plenty of power. Probably will go with a roller cam setup. I want a manual transmission but am too cheap for a t-56, maybe a t-5 or something, but I have not researched that much yet.

From what I have seen, this forum will be a great resource for me. I have been lurking and reading old posts for about a week now. If you guys have any advice for me from the get go please let me know.

And for others looking for interesting forums to read these are the others I frequent.

I almost forgot....

Will I fit in one? I am a big guy, fairly tall with long legs, I have driven a 82 rx7 (first gen) before and I could make it work, but it was not quite comfortable. But I am guessing that if I can fit in that I can fit in a 240z

Welcome, ;) I`m 6'and weigh 220. I fit perfectly in my 77, with plenty of leg/head room. I don`t like to be cramped in a car while I drive. I prefer to stretch out, and I don`t even have the seat all the way back. That`s one great thing about these cars. Who would guess such a LITTLE car would be so comfortable for US tall guys. What`s even better, not only can a BIG GUY fit in the car,a BIG ENGINE can as well. cheers.gif

I'll go one up on Denny411 - I'm 6'4" and used to weigh 245. I fit fine in my '77 at that time. What will get you is if you wear a size 48 or larger sport coat. Z is not built for guys with wide shoulders - or if your waist size is over 48 - you'll be into the door handle.

I'm 6'2" 231# and have about 3" head clearance with 89 Acura seats in the 73 Z, I dont know if the seat can be lowered more via brackets but I'll get a Kirkey seat eventually.

Well I am about 6'3" and about 315, about a 46" waist, dunno about a sport coat, but I do have fairly broad shoulders. I guess my only option is to go find one and give it a test fit.

Does anyone here live in the central IL area, and mind letting me sit in their car? if not I will watch the local papers, and car lots and see if I can find one to sit in.
