tube80z
We use concrete walls instead of cones at our autocrosses... the joy of absolutely no one willing to loan a parking lot out for such affairs... to the oval it is. (where we set up a twisty course) Just a bit unnerving getting sideways next to a 4' tall concrete wall. I hear ya. We have a local venue that would be a lot of fun but the owners of the lot claim we'destroy it. So instead they have numerous RV sales where they put down the levelers and leave marks, etc. Locally we had an event at our fairgrounds that featured a slalom between concrete light poles, which didn't count for a penalty I did get to race a long time ago on an event hosted at a drag strip. It was actually a lot better than it sounded and we go 60 foot times. The ol' timers in the club tell me that we used to have a number of street autoxes around here. Entire downtown sections were closed off so a few nuts could have fun. What was this thread about again .... Cary
JMortensen
Here are the pics you asked for momz: The seat mount is 1x1 square tubing that I stitch welded to the floor. Then I welded some angle iron to the top of the tubing, and that meets the end of the recaro sliders that I bolted to the bottom of the seat. With the seat all the way down you can get the top hole in the recaro slider bracket. So it would be adjustable for angle or height. It works just right all the way down in the front and the back though. As John Coffey has repeatedly said, it would be easier to mount this seat if it were not on sliders. But this is a 2 driver car and I think my wife would have been pissed had I modded the car so that she couldn't drive it anymore.
mom'sZ
Thank you. looks like it fits in there prety well. You are going to put a cage in the car right? Or just half cage? I'm sorry, I can't recall
JMortensen
Roll bar basically. Got all the materials, hoop is done, diagonal is ready to weld in, but then I got sidetracked but I am going to get back to that ASAP...
