jenno4z
Okay, did you guys take the shaft out to shorten it? Pushed out with press from the short end, pushing through the ferrule looking part? I got the throttle plate of already. Thanks for any help! evildky
I shortened mine in place, I have yet to install it but it's all shortened and rethreaded
73hls30
i'm too lazy to rethread. just stack another plastic spacer off of another throttle body, and the throttle cable out of a civic lines up. this is useless if your still using linkage though. mobythevan
I don't remember shortening mine. I just combined parts from the original 280zx TB with the 240sx and ended up with something I could use. Kind of mix-n-match springs, levers, etc.
Guest ON3GO
use the 280Z or ZX t-body shaft, and use a dremel or something like it to cut the inside slit on the shaft abit longer to fit the 240sx 60mm plate inside of it. or best and prob easiest way to do it is use the Z or ZX shaft.. cut one side of shaft off so you can just fit the butterfly plate on the shaft and screw it in.. it will flow better when open and all you will need is some counter sunk screws. mike
Tony D
I used a 60mm T/B from a 91 Sentra SR20. All you ned to do with that is remove the quadrant, and the outer spring, and bolt your stock linkage arm on. It comes with the POT style TPS. I don't know what the fascination withthe other unit is, other than it accomodates the stock early TPS for people screwing around with the Stock ECU. For a MS conversion, the Stanza body is EVERYWHERE and does not require rethreading, nor shortening. Look at my Cardomain Page, and you will see that throttle body. Plug n play, baby! mobythevan
All you ned to do with that is remove the quadrant, and the outer spring, and bolt your stock linkage arm on. I remember mine being that easy, I bought my TB off ebay so who knows what style I really ended up with.
z-ya
If the 240SX it came from had cruise control, you have the longer shaft . I put a piece of 3/8" tube over mine so I didn't have to cut it and rethread. It's been working fine for close to 4 years now.
