The Rototiller Posted September 26, 2005 Share Posted September 26, 2005 i did a search on this and didnt find much. i could have sworn that i seen a thread on this subject before. can anyone help point me in the right direction? i have 4 jackstands and i want to locate the proper places to set these to jack up my 1971 240z. i need to get under it to do a few things (driveline removal, differential swap, prepare transmission tunnel for 700r4 tranny, ect) thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

rudypoochris Posted September 27, 2005 Share Posted September 27, 2005 I think you can use the differential to jack up the car but thent he problem is if you are doing control arms and diff at the same time. Maybe put a couple pieces of plywood underthere to spread the load, the 240z doesn't really have jacking points. Cept front xmember diff and rear control arms. S30TRBO Posted September 27, 2005 Share Posted September 27, 2005 In front of the rear tire look underneath (inside the rear quarter lip) in front of the chapmen arm (lower control arm) there is a T shape on the uni-body with a hole in it. Where the 2 intersect on the inside place the jack stand there. You can see the jack stand on my 240Z in relation to where you have to put the jack stand. Since mine is up in the air now because I replaced the fuel tank vent lines, upgrade diff, and e-brake cable. If you need a better picture I can take one tonight and post it... Tim240z Posted September 27, 2005 Share Posted September 27, 2005 Now that I have subframe connectors it is easy, but before that i used the TC rod mounting cups in the front and the anti-roll bar mounts in the rear to put my jack stands....
