Lunar240z
Well, not exactly, it's just that it's not the original engine for the car. The numbers on the Vin plate don't match up, and i'm trying to find out what year z the donor motor came from, the numbers on the block say, 022 P30 25108 heres a pic of the engine: the carbs tell me that it's from a 1972 or older correct? Also it has a dual point distributor, what car is that from?
JMortensen
Check the number on the block and the number on the head. The head number is towards the front on the passenger side. I think the block number is near the oil filter. Very common to swap the older carbs without swapping anything else. So it might be that, or it might be an L28 with SU's or an L28 with an L24 head and carbs.
Here comes trouble
on the engine block above the starter is the engine serial # beginning with either L 24, L 26 or L 28... ie L 28 is a 2800 cc engine. You have the good early round top SU carbs..and appears to be of 1970-71 by the gizmos on the balance tube and the exhaust manifold appears of the same vintage
Lunar240z
Ok, the head is an e88, and the block number was on the driver's side right near the motor mount. it said [022] (in a little box like that) and then, p30 25108. which block is it? Here comes trouble
engine serial # is on Passenger side and will read L24 0r L26 or L28 with a space followed by the serial #'s
