JMortensen
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050929/ap_on_re_us/socal_wildfires My dad called today and said they were evacuated last night. Apparently this is a pretty bad one. I've been real busy the last couple days and didn't even know this was going on. Apparently sounds like the entirety of Chesebro Canyon from Agoura all the way out to Simi Valley is on fire, plus some in Calabasas too. Not good. I was working off of Lost Hills road when the last big Malibu fire started right there. Sounds like this fire is already in that area. I haven't seen this one on the news or anything, but it sounds like all it's going to take is a little Santa Ana to send this sucker right down into Malibu again. Looks like Bastaad's going to have to wash some ash off of his new SRT4...
johnc
Mild Santa Ana winds are blowing right now and the outside temps are over 100 degrees. Feels kinda humid though which is unusual this time of year.
Tim240z
Just drove back in from Santa Barbara....lots of ash and smoke in the air.....Driving out this morning from the South Bay to Santa Barbara in the dark, it was a fantastic site: The foothills were glowing in the distance.. BrandonsZ
3X rainfall last year + no rain for 9 months... you'd be stupid to think there would be no fires this year. Glad they are on top of it, or at least have a full force on it, sounds that way from the radio.
