I could believe that. I ran Him on my bike Suzuki TLR, which runs a low ten. On the freeway he pulled me like I wasnt moving. Scary...But he was spinning tires in 3rd...

If he could get traction id say 10s...But as for now, 11.2 seems very possible with that motor...

well I have never ran a 11.20 at 132.I have only ran it with 8lbs of boost and 4 broken pistons and 235-40-17 yokahama avs intermediate tires, it ran 12.1 at 118. Now I have 15lbs boost, totally built motor, same tires and it just lays rubba!! On the freeway I can pull mt buddies R-1 which ran 10.60 at 134 so if I could hook up I'm sure it would run 10's. Even without the blower it ran 12.3 at 112. But the way it is right now it might run mid to high 11's at high 120's to 130 something. Fast enough. It is pretty cool laying rubber on the freeway at 80mph!!

Cool. I was not doubting the power potential at all. I was just wondering if rumors were true.

No reason that your car with its weight and power output wont run 10s.....once you get it to hook up and 60ft decently.

Neat ride, nice project.

P.S. How much chamber volume must be removed to drop say 2 compression points? I'd guess a bunch but I just don't know and am curious.

Not stirring the crap here just stating 2 things.

You would have to remove 14cc of chamber volume to drop 2 compression points.

Also I have in my garage a motor that made 706 flywheel horsepower with 17lbs of intercooled boost on a SHUT OFF 6,000 rpm dyno pull.

slo5oh has seen it and knows the guy that I got the motor from.

Now he rattled 2 pistons out of it...but I pulled the crank out and it looks CHERRY. There was no walk, no stress cracks etc. The bearings looked perfect.

It had a main support system on it, granted.

BUT it was a brand new NON SVO casting. Not a R block, not a mexican block and not an A-4 block. Just a chinsy 2 bolt main block with a main support on it.

SO to say wether they do or dont work? I would say they do smile.gif

I've got a late 351W with a P1200 in my Mustang. Predicted HP with 10lbs of boost is 600-650, I doubt the higher number to be honest. I'm told that at 650 the crank becomes iffy and that you shouldn't spin them much past 6L due to the size of the main bearings (shrug). Unfortunatly that car is on the back burner as I work on the Z off and on. After taking so long to put together (again) I've just lost energy on it. The fact that it will need to pass emissions really stinks too - it's an '88. The heads are TFS hi-ports that have been worked, not sure on compression. I'd be happy with a 500HP reading to be honest but I've got to get it running and tuned first before I worry about it. smile.gif Blowers are AWESOME and if I can fit one on the Z I may be very tempted. The bottom end was built with this in mind and friends of mine are ATI dealers...

As i recall, John, the old owner told me he used to drive it daily to work... something like 60 or 80 miles round trip for about 2 years, until he finally bought a little ford econ-o-bucket. All his neighbors thanked him for not rattling thier windows any more at 5am when he left for work.

Oh, and dont under estimate the stock crank. I think Herm ran a stock crank in a 351 with tfs-Rs and a vortech XX-trim. He had good rods and good pistons, but a stock crank. I know he dipped into the 9's but I dont recall how deep in the 9's he ran. And dont quote me on it, but I think that motor is still running in a different persons car (fran i think?) with reg. tfs heads and a little S-trim.... still at the 600 to 650rwhp mark.
