Sleeper-Z
Just another peek into the various things that are in my garage. i'll let the pictures talk for themselves (note: motors were both running when pulled). Not sure what i'm going to do with the l24 and ld28 motors but will most likely sell them to someone that can put them to good use. I don't think i want to stroke the motor i am currently building. Thanks, Steven M. More pics of various misc. things at: http://www.picturetrail.com/sleeper-z
Cruez
I wouldn't mind putting together a vegi burning L28D in something someday.
Sleeper-Z
that's exactly what i was thinking. imagine driving a z, getting 40+mpg, and having your exhaust smell like french fries! i've got to focus on my current project, the diesel motor is going to throw me off if i keep on thinking about it. slownrusty
The LD looks in awesome shape ...wow!
24OZ
The LD does look good, is that a turbo manifold attached to it? I have heard of a few LD28 turbos and wondered if the turbo exhaust manifold is the same as the L28ET one? Cruez - there is a well documented veggie car 240Z on the net, here is a video of it http://www.joshuatickell.com/NatGeoGreenCarDSL.mov

Cruez
I saw that 240 a while back.... I believe he sold it... Nice idea though
Sleeper-Z
Tahdah.... Yasin nice... what are your plans for it? any chance of a diesel conv.? or just getting the crank? i remember seeing that veggie z before, sounds pretty cool. not a turbo manifold, but it would be easy to fab something up for it, i think a to4b or 60-1 would have a nice home on this motor. AK-Z
I am green wih envy. I wouldn't mind trying to turbo the LD28, since it is diesel I assume it can take much higher boost/compression than the l28et.
Here comes trouble
Looks like you got your hands on the never seen one off double overhead cam V-12 Datsun engine that Nissan made for Paul Newman. Too bad the dual carbs and FI were so incompataible
Sleeper-Z
Looks like you got your hands on the never seen one off double overhead cam V-12 Datsun engine that Nissan made for Paul Newman. Too bad the dual carbs and FI were so incompataible if it would be like that, it would be: One of a kind WI-22 cyl. Datsun/OMC engine with dual side-draft carbs, diesel fuel injection, and a single barrel down-draft on the last 4. also, super-rare dohc/push-rod design. All for a whopping total of 11.4L. imagine how wide the car would be .
Guest bastaad525
that video, isn't that the turbocharged biodiesel Z that sold on Ebay a while back? Does anyone remember how fast it was or how much power it made?

Cruez
I thought that was yours.... unfortunately.... too much to ship... Wish it was local ..
t-tom
You know you can ship that for about 130.00 bucks. I use freightquote.com and they will find the best deal out there. I ship 5 or 6 items a month via truck freight and they have never done me wrong.
Sleeper-Z
i believe ebay uses freight quote. I overshot on the weight, #500 and i was told the class for engines on crates is an 85. The guy who won is from san antonio so he'll be picking it up. i was expecting a bit more, but i can settle . thanks, steven m.
