240zV8
This is the other Z i'm going to check out tomorrow. It's a '74 260, with no rust on the shell (not sure about the rest of the car until i check it out). This one runs good, and has been his car to get to work so it's been drivin on the freeway which means good things for me, because i'd rather buy a car that i can test everything like brake's steering suspension etc... before i get somthing home that i didn't get a test drive in. His asking price is $500, i'll see if thats a good price when i get there. But do u guys think this is a better deal than the other '71 i posted that doesn't run, and has shady t-tops that might leak etc....? Pics no steering column cover (ie. Wire's hanging, but the cover is cheap on ebay)
RB26powered74zcar
I say go for it.... its a "early" 74 260z (which I have) and is basicly the same as the 73 240. You can't complain about the price, so I'd grab it. Auto trans can be delt with w/o a prob. Buy it or hook me up with the seller...
v80z
Put $500.00 in your pocket and offer him $400.00. Either price is a good buy. 74 260 is my favorite model.
240zV8
I think i'm gonna get this 1 if there aren't any suprise's when i get there. It runs, which will give me time to make it look how i want before i start the 350. Should be fun, i'll post some of my own pictures if i get it tomorrow. bjhines
just remember to check for damage and rust in all the right places...you would do better to buy a straight, relatively rust free car for $1000 more.
love-my-V8-280Z
Pay attention to body work, I learned a long time ago "no rust" only means it looks good. You may find the car full of plastic fillers.... you will waste any savings when you are stuck fixings someones else's crappy work..
iaconsultants
It's a good deal at 500 and I would buy it if it where near me. Even if you decided to buy another one just like it then you would have some really good spare parts, but this one looks like a keeper. 240zV8
Well, we drove home with no car today. This one was alot worse than the pictures show. There was rust bubble's under the paint job. And As i drove it, we filled it with gas, and my friend was driving behind and told me to pull over because there was a stream of fluid coming out constantly, to find there's a nice crack in the upper part of the gas tank. The steering was iffy, and i just think i can find a much nicer one for close to the same price if i keep looking. The floor pans did look good though, but i'll find somthing else soon
DavyZ
This one looks better, although the extraneous wiring in the cockpit looks rather scary-you may have to deal with that later. Still, if this one is rust free, I'd say go for it! As stated previously, the early 260Z is essentially a 240Z with similar "skinny" bumpers, etc. The larger engine and tail light panel are the major changes. The auto is not really an issue--you'll need a few items like a pedal assembly and such. Davy
240zV8
The other one has a much better body, and interior. i'm gonna check it tomorrow, but compared to this one, it has to be alot better.
