buZy
I might be Wrong .... But I think you if remove your interior rear hatch panel and just slide the lock retaining clip free from the lock assembly. The lock will then pull out of the hatch from the outside allowing you to work the latch mechanism with your finger and open the hatch. Good Luck! AK-Z
You should be able to access the internal part of the hatch by unscrewing the vinle piece from the inside. Just look at the trunk from the inside. Its pretty hard to view the loack from there so use a flashlight.

That's what I did in a junkyard once (forgot the reason why I just had to get that hatch open, but I went through the interior and finally used a screwdriver to push the mechanism to the side and then voila, it opened. Come to think of it, I removed the tail lights, rear panel, license plate thingie, etc, etc. Davy
Mikelly
Evan, What they said... You can pop that rear hatch interior panel off. Just be careful not to damage it, because it is pressed cardboard with vinyl over it. They tear easily. Once you're past that panel, you can use a screwdriver to release the catch or just pull the whole assembly out after pulling the spring clip with plyers or a screwdriver. AK-Z
wow that worked!!! awsome.... is there a kit for a new rear lock? any kinda fo replacement? As far as I know there aren't any replacement kits that let you use the original key. What I did was to get a new lock set (replacement Kit) and canibalized the tumbler from my old locks. I'm sure you can get a locksmith to do it for you if you have all the parts.

AK-Z
maybe Ill bondo the hole and go keyless.....do this is going to require a little more work then you might think. Yout going to have to weld a small piece of sheet (just enough to cover the hole) onto the insde of the hatch, or (harder way but better) cut a piece to fit flush with the hole and weld it, then dress the weld. Then you can bondo it. If you just bondo it, its not going to hold and just fall into the hatch.
