Problem with alot of kit cars is they always look like kitcars, generic or fake . They never have the same "damn that's a sick car" feel to them. This is one of my "must have" cars and the car was a factory five kit, done up with high end parts. I was so disappointed that the owner saw it on my face. I tried to mask my disappointment, but I think he could tell. What did I not like? The car rode horribly, had poor braking, and the suspension and steering were vague at best. I was not impressed. Mike [/quote'] do you know off hand if he had the car dialed in though? expensive parts do nothing when there not tweaked right, i know i'd be crushed to go through all the work and have a car thats a turd in the bends... When I asked for the alignment numbers, they sounded very tame... I think he had Half a degree negative camber in the front with something like 3 degrees caster and the toe was set at Zero. On my daily driver I have 1.2 negative on the front, 7 degrees positive caster, and about 1/32nd positive toe. The rear is at 1.0 negative with 1/16th of toe in. That Factory five drove poorly and just was uninspiring all the way around... He commented that his wife won't ride in the car becuase of the side pipes and the uncomfortable seats. I thought to myself that she'd at least be safe that way! Oh well... We've seen similar from the cobras we've done track days with too. You might consider converting your Z to a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO. The proportions are not exact to the original but they are esthetically pleasing and the best part is that it runs and handles like the great Z car that is underneath. That works - a 1960's Kellison GT-40 body, adapted to the MR2 platform. I'm an oldies fan, I like the Dino-inspired rebodies as well (Kelmark GT on a VW chassis is what I'm all about) I am thinking a late 1980's MR2 rebody pseudo Ferrari 308 might work. There were a bunch of Fiero 308 rebodies at one time, but I guess they have run out of Fieros, or Ferrari sued them out of business. I've been told the MR2 handles better than a Fiero anyway. IMO The GTO are kits are the best rebodies as far as donor and body are concerned. I still like the GTO kits but just fell in love with Z's.
