zguy36
thehelix112, Can you post a pic of your exhaust manifold? I can see that your turbo isn't in the stock location and haven't seen a manifold that puts the turbo there before. Thanks!
Guest Cronic
His car is RHD - that's why it looks so different. They have all kinds of cool manifolds for RHD Z's.
AK-Z
I was asking in hoping to find a narrow one that would run almost the whole length of the opening. Looks like I'm gonna have to get a custome core from a ducting company and weld the ends myself.
240hoke
Hey, Im running a generic i/c too, made in china or somewhere over there. Bar and plate made by "turbo xs". I like mine, the welds are beautiful, seems to be good quality. But that only goes for chiwanese intercoolers, anything with moving parts is junk! i/c 24"x12"x4" I had to modify the endtanks to get the i/c to fit, pretty easy to do, just chop the stock spouts off and cut up some aluminum mandrels, i used 2.75" aluminum mandrels as they slide into the outlet great for welding and also fint through the stock air vent holes. I got the i/c for 180 bucks, and then spent about 60 bucks on the mandrels for the outlets.
thehelix112
zguy36, I was sure this was already in a post but I can't find it. So: Yes the turbo is braced. I can undo the bolts to the manifold and the turbo sits in place. But it can still move forwards and backwards to allow for heat expansion in the headers. Not a readily available manifold, once off custom job built entirely by previous owner. Wish it had been my idea. Oh well. Dave
240hoke
Awesome manifold! Very very cool. So much room with RHD
zguy36
Wow, that header looks really good. I wish the weather here would clear up, I am driving myself nuts looking at all these sexy parts, but not having access to my car!
zguy36
I guess I should add something to this post too, since I am the one who got it off tangent. Here's my intercooler. Just the right width to fit around the stock radiator.

If it doesn't smoke I'm sure the front bearing and thrust washer will go after a short time.
thehelix112
Clifton, Haven't run the car a lot as yet. Will keep you informed if it does. Definitely doesn't blow (oil) smoke though. Dave
vashonz
Ebay 12"x24"x3" with 3" in and out. Used cheap ebay aluminum mandrel bends (6 for $77). The mandrels did not look the best, but the material was nice, it welded REALLY smooth once I took the annodizing off.
