Guest tony78_280z
Seein as how Z's are often infected with electrical gremlins, there should be an electrical section on this forum. What amp toggle switch would be required to shut down the entire Z. A toggle switch in front of the correct fuseable link should disconnect power to the entire car. Note: Carbed motor Note: Starter and Alternator will still be connected directly to the battery. Also: Please, don't ask me why.
Pop N Wood
I would think one rated just above the amp rating of the link.
dr_hunt
I would sum all the amperages of everything that gets power and use one switch that would equal that sum which assumes that all are on and drawing full power. You could factor in a safety factor as well. Typically a starter draws about 200 to 250 amps, so it would have to be rated for about that. Some-Guy
yea atleast a 300 amp switch minum so it doesnt catch fire!
Dave
I don't think he is talking about a main battery disconnect. His switch is in the fuseble link circuit and it should be rated for 25% more than the total load. However the main battery disconect switch would do the job. AK-Z
I think it would be safer if you did a relay circuit switch then you don't have to look for and mount such a beefy switch, unless you like something like a circuit breaker switch on there. Pop N Wood
25% more than the rating of the fuseable link. You can go larger than that. Just shouldn't go smaller.
