cygnusx1 Posted April 17, 2006 Share Posted April 17, 2006 Lucky me has a 280Z with 40pound bumpers (80lbs total). I got to remove those and replaced them with 240 bumpers. That saved about 65 pounds. It made a very big difference in steering response and braking feels better too. I am now considering replacing the steel hood with my cowl FG hood. stony Posted April 17, 2006 Share Posted April 17, 2006 Ok let me rephrase my post above. I have allready replaced the hood with fiberglass. once the hatch is done i will do the doors next. I removed the HUGE bumpers way back in japan and had fiberglass bumpers installed. i want to say the FRP bumpers weigh maybe 5 LBS total front and rear.
