v80z
That video was great. How much in the USA? Do they do a Left hander for the states?
OlderThanMe
yeah...they start at like 45 kawhalops... it costs about 8-12 kawhalops to get a good Z... just go buy a Celica front clip and a dune buggy chassis and go to town. time to start the redneck atom build... v80z
I hear ya older the first thing I thought is hmmm what is the chassis made of hmmm I can make that hmm what di they use for components mhmmm
OlderThanMe
the shocks are easy...just go to summit or someplace... To bend the tubing like that you would need a scroll tubing bender...$$$$ or you could get a new warrior dune buggy chassis with prebent tubes for $250 and then modify it with control arms instead of the VW bug running gear and maybe a SR20DET out back with a front wheel drive tranny. it would not be THAT hard. just don't weld on the roll tubes on top and you are set. 280zwitha383
Those are really tight but not for that much money. I've been thinking about building myself a trike(sp?) someday with a small block or maybe an l28 that I have laying around. Ah would that be fun. Sparky
just build a locost 7. the newer chassis are using miatas as donor cars. http://www.domsat.co.uk/pages/locost.htm http://locost7.info/locost.php http://locostusa.com/ http://www.rhinobuggies.com.au/the_locost.htm http://www.grmotorsports.com/archives/locost.html I figure that as soon as things start to settle down in my life and I plant myself down on a patch of earth I will start building a miata suspension based 7 using a hayabusa engine (or the V8 version should funds allow) even a renisis powered 7 would be super fun. 280zwitha383
No no, probably something like this: Or this except with some engine showing somewhere and no blue, But if I did it, it would probably end up looking like this...
Guest BiltWel
That thing is Badass I just think of it as an overengineered Gocart though. But a Badass one. If my wife told me I needed one of those I would not hesitate I would go straight to wherever it was sold and be wrinkling face that evening. OlderThanMe
well the 2nd and 3rd ones are VW bug flat four 1.6 liter powered trikes...the first one is just crazy. I saw a vw trike with 2 foot wide drag radials in Kansas city once...1.6 power with dual carbs...(75-100 h.p.)
olie05
Lol at the lady on the trike!! I'm surprised the ariel atom's don't have more roll over protection like any other racing type car. (ie lotus 7)
OlderThanMe
they have a rollbar for it but that is extra.
Some-Guy
its pretty cool but not worth 35,000 you could build the same thing for less than 10 I would imagine.
